My class at Tolles Career Center in CNST (Computer Networking Support Technology) Has had a Vista computer running since January (Yes before it was even released). Bad thing about Vista , some programs won't work on it... May be just the verson we got from Microsoft that didnt allow us but about 1/2 we tried didn't wanna install. Don't let that scare you, I bet they fixed the problem before releasing it to the public. But just a small warning if its still the same way. ( I don't think theres anything that can be done as of right now)

There are tens of millions who say Vista isn't good, different than me. Vista is magnificent. that is not any longer worry-free to apply XP now. in case you have hubs and routers, it's going to be worry-free. yet to make a wireless community rapidly from laptop to laptop working Vista and XP isn't worry-free. yet I say, stay with Vista. the hot good factors are cool. do no longer purchase a Vista residing house user-friendly.

Other than reinstalling them, you shouldn't have a problem.

You may need to set the applications to run in "compatibility mode" to get them to run on XP, but that's about it.

You will either have to get updated versions of the software, download new drivers for hardware, and new patches for games to make them work.

Just keep your current XP OS and dual boot it with UBUNTU. This free, reliable and up to date operating system is available from http://www.ubuntu.com . The programs are also free.
