8 years old??? Time for a new PC! Trust me, it's not worth the time or money to invest in a new motherboard. But if you still want to go ahead, try this link http://www.ascendtech.us/itemdesc.asp?ic=MB3GWFLEX810PRT&eq=&Tp=
Looks like the company is MicroStar hence the MS in MS-6312
Good Luck!

Howzit bro!! First you are using 'dead technology' and no offense there bro. You are probably using one of those Socket487 processors and its very difficult to get a motherboard that will support you processor... Secondly you cannot load an operating system on a 75MB hard disk unless if you are using CLI (command line interface) operating system. You probaly meant GB (giga byte) Thirdly>>> You might want to keep the case only (I mean the empty box) only... There is no way on planet earth you can upgrade your computer and not let it be nothing but a waste of cash... What I recommend is you buy yourself a new motherboard and a really cool processor and know that its an investment for the next coming 2years (atleast). Upgrading you computer will be a waste of cash, what you can do is save up and get a new one. Sell your current pc immidiately at a good price or it will be of no value soon... I hope you find my stright talk helpful...

As other post have mentioned, it might be time to think about an upgrade. I did a quick Google search on the system and pretty much only found sites related to memory upgrades for that system. You might be able to find a replacement motherboard but it might be more reasonable to spend that money on a new low end system. eMachines could be a good choice for you if you want to save money. A basic system is $350 (without monitor) or $500 (with monitor). If that is out of your price range, consider going to a local small PC shop that deals in used computers. They'll often have PCs that they purchased in lots from government/company auctions and they should be relatively inexpensive and more powerful than your old Gateway system.

Honestly, get a new PC. Lots of great deals out there. Anything 8 years old can't run modern software and will even have problems surfing the net.
PCs are a consumer product with a 3 year life span. After that you can start to expect them to fall apart. It's rare for a unit 7 years old to be of use. You spend far too much time waiting for a response after every click or keystroke. Even a used computer would be a smarter move.

Before you spend any money try UBUNTU. This is a free, reliable and up to date operating system. Plus you get all of the software FREE!!! Order a CD or download it at http://www.ubuntu.com
If you have 256MB of RAM - get a full version, if not get XUBUNTU.

Time to upgrade. Vista is out. Try not to get it. Too many problems.
