AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Toledo 2.4GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor - OEM

So what is the difference between the Windsor and the Toledo I am building a gaming computer so if anyone has an opinion of either of these that would be helpful too.

LOL (to first answer)... the E6400 does not beat the 4600+ hands down.... stick to the facts.
There is a 3 -7% variation in performance depending on the application. The link you provide clearly shows that.

BTW .. minor differences. The AM2 was built for compatability with the newer 6 layered AM2 socket motherboards & to take advantage of Registered RAM. Actual CPU performance is the same.

The difference is the socket they use, as you can see in the name the Windsor is socket AM2 and the Toledo is socket 939. Socket AM2 uses DDR2 memory, while socket 939 uses DDR memory. DDR2 is faster and newer than DDR, so you should go with the Windsor. Other than the difference in sockets and RAM, the two are the same thing.

For speed comparission take a wander over to Toms Hardware.

Personally, I'd go for the Intel E6400 - best bang for bucks right now! Beats the AMD 64 X2 4600 hands down.
