Try it and see.
Then when you find that all the viruses you had are still there, invest in decent anti-virus software.
Scan the system and fix, delete or quarantine any bad files.
The System recovery SHOULD restore everything to factory settings BUT....
The Trojans and Worms you have may well be in the Windows system files already and in that case, may fool your PC into thinking they are 'kosher' files, and you end up with a Virus as an operating system.
You may need to completely format your hard drive in order to clear it and then re-install the operating system from scratch (as long as you have the system disk for a full install).
Anti-virus software is the only way to go!

Yes if you do a full system recovery from a separate recovery DVD. This will delete all the data on the hard drive. After system recovery you will need to install any other applications you installed or came with the computer.
The Belarc Advisor builds a detailed profile of your installed software and hardware, anti-virus status. Run it and make a copy of the results now.
http://belarc.com/free_download.html
Locate all you installation disks. Backup your data files now. Scan your data files for malware before saving and again before reinstalling.
If you can't save you files do a system restore, and if that does not work, a system repair . Then try to save the files. Then perform a full system recovery,

There are two options to get rid of these trojans 1.Format your system drive and install Windows XP using boot-able cd only.Don't use any setup that is on pendrive or hard disk.It will be corrupted. After installing XP immediately install Nod32 or Kaspersky anti-virus as the files on the other drives may also be infected and may lead to infection once again.I have very bad experience on this .i had to install the windows three times to get the virus out. Finally most important warning backup all your documents or anything from desktop as well as my documents folder as it will be gone when you format the hard drive. You may also copy entire 'Documents and settings' folder on System Drive. But that is not recommended as it may contain copies of virus. 2.Install Kaspersky Internet security. or anti-virus.It is the most stable anti-virus.And then start your system normally .It will detect all the viruses.Do not forget to update the anti-virus.Even though it prevents the virus from corrupting the system, updating allows you to recover the files Recommendations If you have installed many programs on your computer and it would take too much time to reinstall everything just go for option 2 and install kaspersky otherwise it is better to go for option 1 as it is clean and performance efficient

A system restore will give you a clean and uninfected system. However and this is a big however if you have backed up the stuff you wanted to keep then when you reload them you will probably find that you have reinfected the machine. Best bet is to run anticipate program and an anti virus program. Several good ones are mentioned in other replies.

Depending on how deep the trojans, worms got in your system,
they would most likely be present after a restore.
You might want to check out some free online anti virus software to scan your pc.

and WindowsDefender from Microsoft.com

I'm quite sure system recovery will wipe out any software issues you have, including viruses and worms. To be extra safe, I'd re-format the hard drive first. That may or may not be necessary, but it definitely won't hurt.

You could try recovering it first, and restore it to factory settings if that doesn't work.
Switch off System Restore as back up files may be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

It might not get rid of all the viruses because they can hide very well. If the disk re-formats the drive then it would wipe it totally clean - but you would definitely need to totally reformat.
But if you want to get rid of the viruses - you can download free antivirus programs that are very good.
One of them is called avira.
