Importance of SSL is to secure communication between client and server.

When a enters data in to SSL protected website, no other person or bot can access the data.

How SSL Certificate Works on a Website?

When a user tries to open a SSL secured website on browser

1. The browser first attempts to connect to that website.
2. The very next step is the browser quickly request to the web server of the website to identify itself.
3. In respond to the browser’s request, the server sends the copy of its SSL certificate
4. Now the browser checks the SSL certificate sent by the server, and respond back with a message to the server that it trusts the SSL certificate.
5. To start the SSL encrypted session the server sends a digital signed acknowledgement to the browser.
6. The encrypted data is transmitted securely between the web browser and the web server and finally HTTPS appears.
