Graphics cards use PCI Express to run. You cannot put a PCI-E card in a normal PCI slot because it won't fit. It will damage your PC and your card.

To have SLI or Crossfire, you need a special clip that goes in the small PCI-E X1 slot that links both cards (comes with the SLI enabled motherboard).

certain PCI-exhibit a million.a million can push 8GB/s bandwidth PCI-exhibit 2.0 doubles this to 16GB/s bandwidth. this suggests no longer something yet as there are not any playing cards waiting to push more effective than 8GB/s yet. even as R700/G100 and DDR4 get going it will be nicely worth getting 2.0

You have to get a sli compatible motherboard. if you can afford two sli cards, you can easily afford the motherboard.

Without a new motherboard that supports 2 pcie cards this will not work. (At least be stable anyway)
