I have a E-machine PC and i bought brand new CD-RW to burn a couple of movies. but when i right-click on the cd drive it doesn't give me the option of formatting the cd first before i burn the movies on it. a message tells me that the files are ready to be written but when i start the process it keeps telling me that i need to insert a cd RW in my pc to burn the movie. i know how to format but the computer won't give me that option at all when i insert a cd. what is the problem? can someone help me please?

You need some CD software such as Nero, Roxio, or others to format the CD. It isn't the same as doing your hard drive or a floppy. You can go to most of the sites and download a trial version that will let you do this but you won't be able to use all of the features unless you buy it.
