Old iMac G3's did not ship with airport cards (wireless cards) so don't know if you have them installed or not, but that is where to start.

After that is done, connecting via wireless just requires a wifi router and setting up the macs to see it.

Hi Sandra B,

I'm sorry, but the G3 iMacs are pretty old technology. You would need to install Airport cards into them, but Apple has already updated the Airport cards twice since those iMacs were made and I doubt that you'll be able to find any (even if you could install them into your older iMacs).

I think that the USB ports are the slower 1.1 versions too. So using a USB wireless wouldn't work as good either. It would be much better for you to use Ethernet cables on them instead. I believe that Ethernet is a lot faster than WiFi anyway. It might be a better option for you, if you can find a way of attaching them to your router.

You might try finding a local Macintosh Users Group in your area, or find a local Mac dealer where someone could recommend something for you. Best of luck to you.

Those iMac do not have an internal wireless internet conductivity and there is no easy way to insert it. BUT you can use your usb port to connect to wireless device (see example below). Be forewarned that you iMac only have USB 1.1 and that type of USB port will limit you wireless speed to 12Mb/s. Most of the usb wireless port will work with either USB 1.1 or USB 2.0.

The Verison wireless router and the linksys usb wireless adapters work fine with Mac OSX although they are not Offically supported by either Linksys or Verizon.
