I know its a stupid question but I was just wondering.

It sounds like that you have shared graphics memory with your Ram, so you loose 64mb of ram and it is dedicated to be loke your graphics memory. You can fix this by purchasing a new graphics card with memory on it, and than once it is installed disable the on board graphics and you will get your ram back, or you could just out more ram in your computer if you need it because ram is cheaper than a graphics card

You do have 512Mb Ram only the other 64 is being shared by other things

You have 64MB of shared video ram. That 64MB is allocated to your integrated graphics chip and can't be used by the system.

You actually have 512mbs. 64 mbs is used up in processes that keep your pcs blood flowing.

It has shared graphics on it. Part of your RAM has been given to process video. If you want to get this back, you will need to upgrade to a graphics card.
