My 13 months old went to the doctors for an eye infection. The doc said he had the start of pink eye and have him eye drops. I have a hell of time trying to get them in his eye and I have to fight him and he screams and cries. Any tips on how to get him to keep his eyes open. How to do I do a warm water rinse his doctor suggested it but didnt really explain it?

I am trying to decide between the Britax Toddler Seat (either the Roundabout or the Decathlon). Does anyone have any advice or experience with them? Or, if there is another brand you like, I'm open to suggestions. Just trying to find the safest seat that will last until our child is older. Thank you!

I really want to get it away from him before he starts developing buck teeth or something like that. He's fine during the day without it, but when bedtime rolls around, he screams until I give it to him. Any advice?

My son is 4 and his mother and I have joint custody. When he is with her she bed shares. When he's with me he sleeps in his own bed. Personally, I'm against it. I feel bed sharing enforces co-dependence and a host of other developmental problems such as separation anxiety. Can anyone provide some answers to the negative consequences of parents bed sharing with their children?

We'd rather a girly book since she has two older brothers and tons of toys but no feminine books for her own library.

I think my toddler's fussiness is due to her boredom. She sees the same toys in her room daily, has the same play area every day, watches her favorite show every day, goes outside....
I try to mix things up by letting her watch her show at night before bed one day, then after lunch the next, etc. but she's getting bored.
I'm looking for good activities (or anything really) to set my daughter up with at home that don't need to be 100% supervised.
I tried re-arranging her room to make it different and put some toys in temporary storage so I can bring them out in a few weeks and they will seem new but I need more ideas!
What works for you and your toddler?

The sitter has other children her age, but she doesn't seem to want to interact and often plays by herself. At home, she is very lively and talkative with me and her father and her cousins. But at the babysitters she seems to cry a lot and is very shy. Does anyone have any tips for us. Oh and she is 20 months of age.

My boys have had a goopy discharge coming out of their eyes for the past few weeks. They both took the antibiotic eye drops and it didn't change it. I've been cleaning the house like crazy because I'm afraid it's contagious. Sheets, blankets, towels, etc. get washed daily. Toys, doornobs, light switches, etc. are disinfected, daily. The nurse said to go w/o treatment in their eyes and we've done this for the past week. It's a little bit better, but they get the discharge when their eyes get wet (like at bath time or if they) or when they are sleeping. It's not pink eye. There is no pink, no watery eyes, no puffiness or swelling, they don't itch their eyes. I'm just not sure what it is and was wondering if anyone else's kids have had this?

I asked the same question twice, each at a different time of day, and they are both still answer-less. I know people have toddlers and have advice on how to deal with inappropriate behavior. Why hasn't anyone answered? I can't even pick a best answer. What's up?

Parents who have had toddlers, please let me know what type of toys would be nice for a toddler to play on. We have a large backyard and I would like my 1yr old to have something as it warms up soon and we can get outside.

My friend comes over with her son to play with my son. The thing is my son gets real bad towards the end of playdates. I want her to only stay a few hours but everytime she comes over she stays for hours and hours I have to constantly punish my son for being bad. I just get fed with my son and I want to get him out of the situation and finally be relieved of the whole thing but how do I convey this to her without being rude. I've been lying and saying I have this or that appointment so that she will leave by a certain time, but I don't want to keep making up stuff. Why doesn't she want to leave anyway my son hits her son and stops sharing after a few hours!?

Our boys are 4 & 2, and they love love love to wrestle, kick, hit, bite, push, punch etc. until one gets hurt. No matter how many times you take away their toys and do time-outs they continue to fight, they just love to do it even though they know one will get hurt... fighting amuses them, it's their favorite thing to do. What can I do I've tried nearly everything?
