I need help finding something to keep my daughters hair out of her face. She is 23 months old with soooo much curly hair. I use those soft hair ties from the dollar store but she pulls those out. I also use the the decrative hair bands that have a ball on each side. She cannot pull those out but it makes her hair fall out the next time I comb it. Do they make head bands that go around the whole head for babies. My daughters head is very small.

Any tips, suggestions, websites would be great. Thanks!

Is she a salamander? Some kind of bug? Is her name a clue that she's her own unique species? I have talked to several other mothers and no one can figure out what she is. I tried the Nick Jr. website, but didn't get the answer there. Hardly one of life's great questions, but everytime I watch with my son, I wonder.

My son is 4 years old, and is always disobeying me and his father.. I tried sending him to time out, and I tried taking away some toys, but nothing works. Should I try spanking?

He's only recently starting doing this and its a little unnerving to see your child purpously smack their head on the floor. I'm afraid he's going to hurt himself and if I have to take him to the doctor, will they accuse me of hurting him? This day and age, you can't take your child to the doctor for any type of injury with out being made to feel like you've done something horribly wrong to your child. I don't want him to hurt himself. Is this a normal toddler temper tantrum phase?

I am starting a new job. They told me that I get 10 vacation days a year. When I asked about sick days, they said that there were no sick days beyond what is scheduled as vacation days. However, they indicated that the most important thing is that I work 2,000 hours per year (which averages out to 40 hours per week). Thus, they stated that if I need to take time off when my daughter is sick, then I can make it up later, as long as it equals out to 2,000 hours at the end of the year. My question is, is this a good thing or a bad thing? At first, I was very upset, as I assumed that I would get no time off for sickness and would have to use my minimal vacation days. But, now I am thinking it may be better than getting a certain number of days off designated as "sick days" because it is more flexible and it's not a set amount. I am wondering what other moms think of this. Is this policy good or bad for me?

I have a 3 years old. He used to go to a lady that has been taking care of him since he was 6 months old. Lately, he would cry when I would drop him at her house beacuse he did't want to stay there without me, and once I would leave, he would stop crying. I decided maybe it was time to move up and take him to a day care. I thoght i had found a good one, well recommended and all. The first day he didn't want to get off me and play, but after a while, the first week was pretty good, no crying only at nap time, so I htought my problem was fixed. After one week he got sick, missed day care for one week. Now this week, when I take him back, he won't stop crying, saying he doesn't want to go there. Teachers tell me he only cries for 10-15 mins. Yesterday he didn't want to play or anyhting, he looked sad at home. I don't know what is going on, he wakes up crying, he goes to sleep crying. I'm crying, everyone is crying because he used to be a happy boy! I don't know what to do, HELP PLEASE!!!

My 3 yr old cousin does'nt talk at all. All he says is aaaaaaa. He had his ears and eyes checked and that came out good. They also checked his brain and thats fine. He understands when you speak to him and does what hes told. Hes in Early intervention school where he gets special help and speach. All he does is point at what he wants or goes and gets it. We are at a loss if you could help we would really apprecate it.

My daughter is 19 months old and a great kid all around but she wont sleep in her own bed. We let her go to sleep in the bed with us then move her but she'll wake up immediatley or not long after. When she does she cry's so hard she gets choked and vomits sometimes. We've tried just letting her cry herself to sleep but that rarely works and if it does its only for a little while. We're running out of patience and sick of getting no sleep. It was all sweet at first but now its taking a toll on our jobs, love life and marraige. Any Advice? Please help!!
