SHE IS 3 1/2 YEARS OLD.
SHE KNOWS HER ABC'S. SHE KNOW EVERY SHAPE AND COLOR, EVEN WEIRD ONES SUCH AS: TEAL, BLUE/GREEN, DARK RED, DARK BLUE...NAME IT, SHE KNOWS IT.

SHE KNOWS HER FULL NAME.....SAYS IT, SPELLS IT, WRITES IT. SHE KNOWS MY NAME. CAN SPELL IT, SAY IT, WRITE IT, KNOWS HER DADS NAME, CAN SPELL IT, SAY IT, AND WRITE IT. ME AND HER DAD AREN'T TOGETHER ANYMORE.

SHE KNOWS HOW TO WRITE AND SAY BOTH ADDRESSES.

SHE CAN COUNT TO 75, (100), IF WE HELP HER.

I KNOW SHE IS REALLY SMART FOR HER AGE GROUP. HER DAD WENT AND TOOK HER TO A HEAD START LEARNING FACILITY, AND WITH HER KNOWLEDGE, THEY PASSED HER FOR A 5 1/2 YEAR OLD.

SO HERE IS MY QUESTION: IS IT BAD FOR ME NOT TO WANT HER TO BE ADVANCED...I WANT HER TO GROW WITH CHILDREN HER AGE. WOULD I BE SETTING HER BACK? I KNOW I SHOULD DO WHAT IS BEST FOR HER....WHICH IS SUCCEEDING. I THINK I AM JUST TOO ATTACHED. SHE WILL BE ALLOWED IN KINDERGARTEN WHEN SHE TURNS 4 (4 MONTHS AWAY).

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

My toddler is now 19 months old..I've talked to his Ped. about this problem but his Pediatrician told me not to worry, it's normal. He would eat on & off...and this really worries me bec. he is not getting all the nutrients that his body need. Although I've been giving him a Poly-visol every other day as supplement, but I still don't think that's enough. I've tried everything on earth but nothing seemed to work. I asked and researched on this but my child is one of those picky eaters... but overall...he is big & healthy just by drinking milk. I just want him to start eating like those other kids.

I started potty training my toddler since he turned 17 months, he is now 19 months and he seemed to be very UNcooperative when it comes to this! I'm running out of tricks and ideas on how I can make him go without having to deal with him crying all the time. Any suggestion?

These are the ladies that take care of my precious 3 year old and 1 year old 3 days a week. For obvious reasons I want their gifts to be from the heart and memorable. We are on a very tight budget. Can you offer any ideas?

I put him in playschool, but the teachers are telling me he's been pinching the classmates who won't share toys with him. I've tried to talk to him, but he doesn't want to remember it when I ask. How do I stop this behaviour? And how will I know it worked? Thanks.

I teach Pre-kindergarten and have 4 students whose mothers baby them... to the extreme. Their shortcomings are: the inability to drink from a cup (only use sippies at home), inability to use a fork or spoon (mommy feeds them in the mouth still), boys who don't pee standing up and one in diapers still, baby babbling instead of speaking clear words. So my question is, how can I tactfully tell these parents that their children are behind and need to become more independent? I'm not a parent yet and would like to hear some tactful ways to break it to them, better yet if you can do it in spanish.

My 2 year old is in speech therapy (she's only saying about 15 words, no 2 word strings yet.) The therapist doesn't do much, just plays with her and points out things, same thing I do with her! What does your child's speech therapist do and is it working? I'm beginning to think mine is a waste of time and money.

I hate getting in line behind someone who doesn't have their stuff on the counter or who has to dig through their purse to pay. Why don't people have their money ready when they get to the register? I sometimes miss my bus by 5 minutes and have to wait 35 more minutes because some idiot hadn't loaded their stuff on the counter and has to dig to find their money. I also don't like when someone leaves their cart in front of me and I have to push it through to get to the register.

Can't stand bratty children running the isles or people talking loud on cell phones, and people who come into a store in their sleep pants. Gee , please get dressed before going out. Slippers I can understand if your feet hurt, but sleep pants, yikes.

I have a 4 yr old, who has had a lot to deal with in his short life, his parents splitting up and hardly seeing his father has crushed him and at the same time had to deal with the birth of his sister. This all happened 2 years ago, and the anger in him is getting worse. He has had developmental problems which now I have him up to speed. He is now at violent point and i have to pin him down till he calms down. Any suggestions would be great im at wits end. I have tried time outs, locking him in his room but he bashed the door in. He has got so bad he actually got me cornored with him hitting kicking punching biting scratching, anything he can physically do. Please help I dont no what else i can do!

My daughter (Ann) is 5. During a conversation with a friend today, the word "sex" came up. Ann said she has done sex before. When asked what she meant she said the following: Me and Jake (7 year old boy next door), and Lisa were at Lisa's house playing house. I was mom, Jake was dad, and Lisa(also 5) was the child. Jake and Ann were lying in the bed, and Jake reached under her panties on her backside and "rubbed" her vagina. It stated to hurt, so Ann told him to stop. Jake stopped. On another occasion, Jake pulled his pants down and showed Lisa his penis. These things occurred at Lisa's house, while Lisa's parents were home and in the other room. I have called and notified the police, they said to call Social Serices in the morning and that a police report would be filed. He also suggested I speak to both Lisa's parents as well as Jake's. What do you all recommend? How would you go about doing it? Would you consider this molestation or childhood curiosity?

My oldest is constantly getting in the babies face and he always bumps his head on the babies cause he is so close. Whenever the baby is trying to sleep peacefully he goes out of his way to rub the top of the babies head kinda hard. I'm sure he is not purposely hurting him but he does. I will say things like " you have to be gentle with brother" or " he is tired, he cant sleep when you are ________(whatever he is doing)" Sometimes he throws a tantrum when I say that and accidently hits the baby or something. He is getting very aggressive towards the baby and us.

I always make sure he gets hugs and kisses and I play with him alot. What else can I do??? Is it a phase he will grow out of???

I am hoping that the baby becomes "old news" soon and he just starts going about his day like he did before the baby came. Wishful thinking, I am sure LOL

My wife and I recently took in 2 ferrets from a family that could not take care of them. At first things were great my son loved them and they love him too. Now he will run after them and throw them all over the place, grabbing them violently, and squeezing them to the point of them trying to bite him when we take them away from him. He is only 22 months old. Is this behavior changeable? will it pass? Is he too young for these pets? They pretty much leave him alone unless he is attacking them. My wife and I are very patient with him and never yell or spank. He is beginning to throw tantrums on a 4 times a week basis. getting worse. These I am not concerned about it is the behavior with the small animals that worries me. Can someone HELP me?
