These are the ladies that take care of my precious 3 year old and 1 year old 3 days a week. For obvious reasons I want their gifts to be from the heart and memorable. We are on a very tight budget. Can you offer any ideas?

My parents were teachers, and the absolute best gifts they got were 1) cookies, candies, etc., and 2) gift certificates for the grocery store! I don't know of anybody who works for a living who couldn't use a bit of help with a holiday meal, and both of these can do the trick.

Cheese, pate, crackers, port, chocolates, 8 scratch cards/ lucky dips. Try getting minature bottles of alcohol, so they can all take something home, not just one person who'll take it all home. Don't put scented candles in either. Or what you could do is buy 8 big mugs and fill them up with stuff like the minatures, chocs, scratch cards/ luckydips, fancy pens from accessorize, individual sachets of stuff like face masks, mini make up kits/manicure sets? Hope that helps. Happy Christmas

Although there are some great ideas already mentioned i'd like to add that photos of the kids in a small scrapbook made with the help of the kids would be great. You can add handprints, finger painting and drawing as well as some photos of them.

Take a picture of your kids, and put it in a very nice frame...with a note from you on how much you appreciate them. Or a gift certificate is always good!

If you know how to bake cookies or cakes, these can show your appreciation and sincerity. I'm sure the ladies that take care of your kids will love it. After all, it is the thought that counts.

you could have your kids decorate a paper plate - stick a photo of them on it - tie a ribbon through the top and call it a christmas ornament. very cute! that and some cookies or brownies or something would be great

A hug... its cheap and it makes them feel loved and makes them happy.

Also if you give a dish of cookies like someone else just said. It will really make their day

bath products work well after a day of taking care of a lot of children along with a card that has your children's picture on it
