I did the photo and handprints for Grandfathers last year and liked it so much I wish I had made one for me!!

Depending on where you live this might be helpful... Last year my mom and I used fleece and cut it into a scarf and cut and tied fringe on the end (for a more masculine look you don't have to do this) and sewed a handprint out of felt on the bottom.

Another idea is last year I bought a 8 X 10 canvas (2 for $5 at my local craft store) and a few small bottles of paint and let my 2 kids paint their Dad a picture. My 7 year olds is beautiful, but my 1 years old I just sat with him and kind of helped him fingerpaint. He liked the feel of paint on his fingers and it looks like modern art. I am planning to do it again every year and then my husband will be able to see them grow in ability.

A girlfriend of mine made a shirt that said walking in your footsteps, took an old pair of her husbands shoes and stamped them on the front in a step pattern and then helped her little one walk across the shirt. Another thing that is done a lot are the photo mugs, calendars, etc. Hope something helps GOOD LUCK

For my husbands first father's day 2 years ago, our 1 y.o son gave him a small tree to plant in our yard . As our son grows, so does the tree. They enjoyed planting it together and in 20 years, he'll still be able to look at it and remember his first fathers day.

I agree with answer #1.................get old and new pictures of your son and put them on a cd or dvd, and let him have the moment of this son from day born to now. play little songs during the slide show or something like that. make him paint some pictures and have a cd/dvd on top and wrap it up, and let your son help...it will prolly look horrible..............but that is what matters, that his lil child helped do it!! good luck! hope this helped!!
