My 3 year old daughter knows ALL her colours except RED and GREEN.
She has difficulty and cannot answer when I ask her to point to a red or green crayon.

Personally i'm not bothered but all my friends and close family are insisting I go and get her eyes tested.
I took her to the optitions and they won't test her until she is 4 years old.

Do oyou think it is a problem and does anyone have any experience or advice?

No time wasters please!

I have an almost 2 yr old daughter who I am sure is left-handed. I don't want her to be left-handed. No matter how often I tell her to hold her spoon with her right hand, she will switch back to her left when I am not looking. I would not give her treats unless she takes them with her right hand. Recently she has been scribbling and she does that with her left hand too. I never expected to have a left-handed child... both my husband and I are right-handed.

I have a left-handed friend who was converted to become right handed. Her mum tied her left hand to the back of the chair so she wouldn't write it. This is legal where I live (indonesia) and I am thinking I should do it
It's not very acceptable to be left-handed in Indo as the left hand is the hand meant for washing your butt. In Indonesia, it is not table manners eating with your left hand... you have to use your right. Receiving and giving things to people should always be done with the right hand. Using your left hand is rude.

My 2 year old son dumped an entire gallon of whole milk on the carpet- we had to rent a carpet cleaner to clean the mess up.

My daughter is three years old and she hates milk. I am afraid she isn't getting enough calcium what could I be giving her to get her calcium. She isn't a fan of yogurt any longer and I tried the pediasure and she hated that.

My son has been complaining of a tummy ache for the past 2 days.
Sometimes with toddlers, you don't know how much is real, and how much is their imagination. But I just can figure this one out.

Yesterday night I gave him 1 Tums smooth dissolve. It didn't help.

Today I gave him some Mylecon drops, thinking it must be gas pains. Still no relief.

Today I took him to the doctor. She felt his belly, and listened to his gutt with her stethescope and said she felt no lodged stool, or intestinal blockage, and heard no sounds of distress. So according to her, he is fine.

But all night tonight, he is laying on the couch saying "My tummy hurts, my tummy hurts".

When you ask him where it hurts, he points to his bellybutton. (Not his side....so I doubt it is an appendix issue)
He has been having regular bowel movements without incident (no diarrhea or constipation). And he has been eating all of his meals (no nausea, vomiting). No fever.

So, anyone have ANY idea? Thanks in advance

He is quite defiant. I have tried various methods of discipline to no avail. His older sister went through the same stage, but turned out fine. Should I worry? Any tips? Thankyou.

My 28 month old son has decided in the last week or so that he's not interested in dinner...at all. About a month ago, he stopped eating all vegetables except for creamed corn, now he's decided he doesn't want to eat dinner, period. I've stopped giving him an afternoon snack, but that doesn't work. By the time I get home from work, he's so crabby and cranky I can't deal with him while I cook dinner, so I give him a small (very small) snack to tide him over. He sits at the table and screams, "ALL DONE ALL DONE!" and shrieks and cries. I've heard that it's not good to force a child to eat if they're not hungry, so I don't. A few hours later, at bedtime, he's hungry. Should I make him go to bed without eating, take him out to the table and try to give him his dinner again, or give him a snack? HELP!

My 21 month old son nearly fell off a step the other day. I was holding his left hand. When he slipped I kept hold of his hand and his arm seemed to turn 360degrees. He didn't have any pain and when I checked him over everything appeared to be normal. Has anyone ever experienced this?

My son is just about to go to preschool and we have a school picked out. It's a local Montessori school. Has anyone had experiences that they could tell me about? I'm just hopping that I make the right decision.

Our boy age 3yrs 2mths is showing aggresion to our 7 weeek old baby girl. Although he is sometimes sweet with her and says he loves her, he will not leave her alone and will suddenly go up to her and hit her. Sometimes it starts as a cuddle that gets too strong. This evening he hugged her head and pressed his chin into her very hard for example (deliberately). Even when he is the one getting attention he can't keep himself away from her. there has also been violent shaking of the car seat/bouncy chair/pushchair and poking her head with his finger.

We are trying to give him as much attention as we can. When he has been rough with her we have put him in time out and explained why..

I am trying to get baby to sleep upstairs so she is not disturbed by him and he gets time away from her. When he is on his own with us he is happy and mostly well behaved as he was before but he has been occasionally hitting out at us and throwing toys around.

Things are getting worse - what should we do?

Is it strange that the only thing he says in ahhh, ahhh? He won't say mama, dada, yes, no....he won't say anything. He just reaches for stuff or points and makes noises. When you ask him to tell you what he wants he just points more, and if you keep asking him to tell you what he wants he just gets mad and gives up. My sister and her husband just make matters worse by just giving him whatever he wants, they don't ever try to make him talk. Should he be talking by now or is this normal?

I have been offering her small pieces of foods but she wont chew them, she simply swallows it. I am really trying hard to make her chew food, but she is not at all cooperating. I checked with the child's pediatrician and all she says is to keep offerieng her solids.

Are there any moms out there having such a kid? Or have you heard of such a issue with a 2 and half year old. Is this a something to worry about ?

Please advise.

Other than this issue she is a above average kid both in physical and mental deveopment.

My son is 14 mos. old, he says doga=dog, dada, mama (rarely), pappy, dop (i think is stop) thats about it. I'm a little concerned that he's not saying ball/ baby etc.. he seems to say
"huh" to EVERYTHING he points to things & says it, when you say anything to him he says it. However he knows tons of things that we say to him, we say get your chair to eat & he pushes his chair out into the diningroom, if you say I need to change your diaper he sits down & waits, if you say take off your shirt for a bath he'll do it, if you tell him to spin a circle he does it, he knows to point to his head, tongue, feet & ears & he knows to blow on his fingers if you tell him its hot, the list goes on & on for those types of things, but he just doesnt say much back. he has some underlying health concerns & I think i'm always paranoid that he'll have something else wrong. Is it ok for him to only have 4-5 words? The DR seemed really ok with it but sometimes I wonder if they tell u what u want to hear

I'm not talking about the dangers of air-bags to kids. I need them for children sitting in the backseat of a car with out a car seat or seat belt. I need this to convince my in-laws how dangerous it is. Unfortunately the more graphic, the better. Even animated videos would help.

The airline i am flying with requires that toddlers (even almost 2 yrs of age) must remain in a parent's lap for the duration of the flight. How can that be possible? it will be over night, so my child (and i, so i'd hoped) will be sleeping. My husband will also be there, but we cannot pass her between the both of us throughout the night. Is there anything i could say that might change their minds (providing there is an extra seat), or is this kind of rule non-negotiable?
