Yes you have!!! I have taught both traditional preschool and Montessori (Montessori for 11 years). I will never go back to traditional preschool. Montessori is amazing! I see so many differences between children who have gone through both. Children who go to a Montessori schools are more confident, orderly, focused, coordinated, and independent then children who have gone through traditional preschool. They are great problem solvers, adaptable, and learn to make decisions at an early age. Here are some comparisons of Montessori and traditional education. http://www.alexandermontessori.com/about...
You've made a good choice!

Make sure that the Montessori school also has group activities- group story time, etc. Strict Montessori schools are based on children doing things individually- making their own choices, which is fine, but preschoolers need the group experiences, too!

Montessouri schools are amazing schools and are definitely worth enrolling your son in if you can afford the somewhat pricey tuition costs. Like an above user suggested, definitely schedule a drop-in a take a tour, especially of a class the age group of your child. In a Montessouri school, you're going to want a small child-to-teacher ratio (rather like five kids to one teacher), and a big classroom with lots of manipulatives and hands-on activities. What I've done before is gone and asked the kids themselves (in a class or two ahead, especially if your son can barely talk - don't know if you're talking about 2K or 3K or 4K) how they liked it - the best opinions come from the kids and parents who have been down the same road before.

I think that would be an excellent choice as long as they teach them. I tell you this because one preschool my brother went to wasnt good. My parents figured out that they were not really teaching and doing their job. They would just let the kids play so my mom took him to a pre school for kids ahead of the level of preschool. Like a pre school for children like a magnet school. He would get bored in that class to because when he was 3 and 2 I taught him different things before he actually went to school.

Montissori's are excellent schools. However, as a mother of three, and also as one who has either worked in or run my own daycare for the past ten years.....The best thing that you can do to assure that this is a quality school is to make an unplanned. unnannouced visit to the school. The most hectic time of day for tehm is after lunch just before nap time. This is when you need to make you visit. Good luck and please, anybody reading this, do not simply trust a faciltity because it looks nice. Please do your research and check into it and ALWAYS make an unplanned visit!!!!
