Do children need to sit in a car seat on an airplane? I have a two year old and will be flying alone with her. I am wondering how I carry her and her carseat through the airport.

I am having a b-day party for my soon to be 5 year old. Instead of the traditional cupcakes does anyone know a good dessert for kids to go with the cake and ice cream? I want to have something fun for the kids that they will like too. Any websites would be helpful or any of your recipes. Oh, by the way he is having a Buzz Lightyear party if that helps. Any ideas would be great.

My 13 month old absolutely LOVES books. He will sit by himself just flipping through the pages for at least 2 hours a day, not to mention all the stories I read to him. If he starts crying all I have to do is pull out a book, and the tears immediatley stop! Is this common, or just another wonderfully unique thing about my baby?

He ran and tried to hide in a store. I knew where he was but I'm afraid of him taking it to far. Now he thinks it a game. I told him if he doesn't quit I'll put him on a leash.

Hi .. My daughter is almost 22 months old and she dosent say many words...She has a vocabulary of maybe 6 words most of which she dosent say very often.. She does babble all the time at everything.. And then out of the blue she will say a word and If I ask her a question she will say yeah or show me what she wants.. She definatly understands everything I say and is a sweet, social girl...People keep telling me that anyday she will just start to talk but I was curious if any other Mom's have experienced a late talker. She can also wave bye and plays with all her toys, she likes to organize stuff and I also know she can hear fine... Thanks...

My two-year-old grandson does the strangest thing. Books, toy cars, food, books, blocks (anything else he can find)..he lines up in straight lines. All items must be the same size or he discards them. Colin gets upset if someone messes up his hard work. He is very thorough in the process. Items are next to each other, facing the same way -- all in a straight line. If he runs out of room, he will start another row. It is amazing how he does this. But I am leaning towards the thought that he might be developing a compulsive/obsessive behavior disorder. Please respond.

Thx,

I am going back to work so I have to find a long term baby sitter, for my 3 yr old and 1 yr old. Every one I know and trust have jobs, and I can't use a day care center b/c my son is constantly sick. He has colds or infections all the time. With them comes the fever and any day care center would send him home and I would never be able to work. The only other option I can think about is hiring someone, but the thought of a stranger watching my kids terrify me. I've seen to many FBI Files type shows. Are there any other options out there or anything I can do to keep my kids safe? Thanks everyone

My son, who is three, constantly hits and kicks me when I tell him no. Also he does that when I want him to do something he doesn't want to do, like take a nap. He is normally a good kid, but he seems really angry at times and gets out of control. He rarely does that to his dad, just me. I am not sure what to do! Any suggestions would be great!

I know people have asked this question many times, but I never read the answers because I wasn't having the problem. Now, all of a sudden,my son will get up 3-5 times a night and try to get in bed with us. He doesn't cry or even say anything to me. He just tries to crawl in the bed. I've been getting up and taking him back to his room, tucking him in and leaving. A couple of hours later, he's back in our room. I know that sooner or later, he'll stop. Can any parents that have dealt with this tell my how long I can expect this to continue? Is this just a phase? I'm so sleepy in the mornings. I guess I really just need some emotional support :-) Thanks so much.

My daughter Bri (now 9) came up with Gardee for my mom when she was around 13 or 15 months old and it has stuck with my 2 year old and I guess my next child (to be born in March) will call her that also. And my dad is "PawPaw" (yes we are in Alabama) and the other granddad is "Papi"

My daughter's father passed away on Saturday. I don't know how to tell her because she doesn't understand death. She has never lost anything, not even a pet. Can anyone suggest how I might try and make her understand the best her 3 year old brain can what happened and why she won't see her dad anymore. She would only see him a few times a month due to his irresponsibility and other reasons but they would talk on the phone a lot. Now she is asking for him and I do not know what to tell her. He lived with his parents so do you think I let her go to see them or do you think that will be to confusing since he will no longer be there.

Yesterday I couldn't find her inside so I went outside (she stays inside) I found her hiding and when I got her out she was bleeding out her neck. The vet said a large dog had attacked her she was in shock her babies died and later her being partly brain dead I put her to sleep. I'm so sad and my son who is 3 doesn't understand why is cat is coming home, please help with advice.

I am babysitting a 5 year old little girl who is upset about her mommy leaving. She gets out of control when she is upset and starts hitting her twin brother and I. She also throws toys and kicks walls. I need a solution to the problem now. As I type she is in her room kicking walls! Her baby brother is down for a nap and I hope she dosn't wake him!

My 2 year old doesn't listen to me at all. I can repeat myself ten times, pop his hand, smack his butt, nothing. My husband can walk in and raise his voice and automatically my son listens. What am I doing wrong? Another thing is when I come around all I hear from whomever's keeping him is "he wasn't doing this until you showed up". I promise everyone says this. What's the deal?

My 3 year old son can sometimes be aggressive with playmates, especially if they're younger and especially if he is tired. The other day he pushed a playmate off some playground equipment twice and then refused to apologize. My husband punished him by taking away a favorite toy. This was 2 days ago. He says our son can have the toy back when he apologizes.

How long would you let this go on with your preschooler?
