Somehow my daughter started calling my mom Ya Ya, which later we found out is the Greek name for Grandma and we aren't Greek and never taught it to her. Maybe she heard it watching "My Big Fat Greek Wedding?" Anyway, it has stuck ever since. But she calls all of the other grandparents Grandma and Grandpa.

My Mom's parents were were Nana and Grandpa
my Dad's parents were Grandma and Grandpaps
My mom wanted to be called Nana, and my dad had no preference, so when my daughter started calling him 'Papa' it stuck.

My daughter starting calling her grandparents after their pets. My mothers dog is named Lucky, so she is called Mamow Lucky. My dad has no pets so he is called Papow Murrell (his last name)
My husbands parents had a cat called Spinkter, so they are Mamow and Papow Spinkter.
They think it is the cutest thing, none of the other grand kids call them anything special.

My in-laws picked their names and they are Grame and Papa. My parents did not pick their names and my daughter came up with Grandad and Carrot. We have no idea why she calls my mom Carrot, but she's almost 4 now and it's stuck. It's definitely unique, LOL!
