She's an only child and she's not in daycare-says maybe 10 words, but not very often. Her doctor said she's ok, but I'd like to know if anyone has any tips on how I can help her to say more. Obviously I can't push her, but maybe some other moms out there have had similar situations.

I have to nanny this upcoming week for two little girls (ages 2 and 5) from 9-5 Monday through Friday. I've worked in a daycare for almost two years, and have been babysitting for six, but I've never had to entertain two children with such a handicap of an age difference for such a long period of time, and I'm afraid I'll run out of activities for them to do. Suggestions?

My mother in law has made it her purpose in life to continually send our 1 year old daughter clothes. This wouldn't be a bad thing if it wasn't for the clothes being extremely frilly, little-house on-the-prairie-style, impractical and completely out of sync with my tastes. She buys most of them at an overpriced boutique in the midwest where she lives and it's impossible for me to take them back. I don't know how to get out of NOT putting my daughter in these clothes and finding a new home for them. My mother in law is coming out this week and I'm sure she is going to expect to see some of the outfits on her. ARGH!!

I was thinking about entering my son (16 month old) in modeling. Does anyone know where I can find our some information about it? I don't want to have to pay any fees to enter him or anything... If you know anywhere that would be interested that would help too.

He is 4 years old and he has snuck into my bedroom, while I'm sleeping, and taken powdered eyeshadows and my purfume and dumped them on his bedroom carpet. He is potty trained but twice he has pooped on the carpet behind his bed. Once during nap time and once in the morning. It wasn't an accident he pulled his skivies down and wiped himself with them. I can't leave him alone for a minute because of what he might get into. The bubbles from his bubble bath, on the floor, the bleach cleaner sprayed on the carpet, the list goes on. Should I just place locks on all of the doors and treat him like an infant? At least an infant doesn't know any better. BTW I am a SAHM and he is an only child, so he gets all of our attention. Any solutions?

Seems like everytime I invite her to do something, she has to bring him along. I don't mind it once in a while but she dosent even try to find a babysitter at all. When he is around I can only be around them for a few hours before the headache starts to set in. How can I tell her I would like to hang out with just her for once without offending her?

See my son does go on it if we sit there for a long time. And it is so weird because for 1 week he told me when he had to go,(not #2, only #1) and now he doesn't. Is it some controll thing? I try to take him every 30 min., and we just sit there and nothing happens. Then when I check his pull up 15 minutes after we just got off the toilet, he goes in his pull up. What am I doing wrong?

I have a son who will be 5 in December, and he's said only a few words so far. He does go to speech therapy. He understands just fine--we call it Input But No Output. He's obviously smart.

I've heard people tell me don't worry, he'll talk when he's ready--I'e had people tell me their kids didn't talk until 3 or 4 or 5, and they started talking in sentences right off the bat. But he's going to be starting preschool in September (in what I think is a special education class) and I'm concerned.

I do have first cousins who were late talkers. No, my son is not autistic. But he is VERY bullheaded. He learns by watching.

I'm just wondering WHY he's not talking. So far I haven't gotten any answers.
