My daughter and I will be flying to Germany and I wasn't able to purchase her individual seat fo her. So therefore, I am hoping that there is an adjoining seat that is available. Does anyone know if it is required to have a car seat if there happens to be an aviable seat. I don't want to have to carry it with me if I am not goign to be able to use it. If i don't take a car seat and there are aviable seat can I just sit her in the adjoinign seat with out a car seat. Any advice would be appreciated. I will be flying from a small airport to Philadelphia and then to frankfurt. I assume that if the small plane is full, i will have to check the car seat and will not be able to use the car seta even if the flight from PHL to FRA has available seat. is this correct?

Thank you all for replying to my question. I should have told you i have two other children all under 5 and since my first child was born. My house has been child proof door locks everywhere. I have had to have child proof furniture. So i thought it was about time i have a coffee table that i want. all my children are quite good they are not devils. I am not a first time mum all i wanted was a little advice to stop my youngest climbing on it. What do you lot do?, you make me feel like i am a crap useless mother that is putting their children in danger. Well i can assure you all actually no i don't care what you all think. My children are perfectly well looked after and safe.

I know I'm gonna have to go through this soon. Also, I've seen mothers that would get all the way up to the cashier and then take away whatever their child was hoping to get and then he/she just cries.

My son is 2 1/2 years old. We got him a toddler bed for his birthday back in Feb. He has done great in it, but for the past couple of weeks, bedtime has been hell! We used to put him into bed at 8:30pm, he did great. Maybe got up twice. Well, we had to take his naps out (he took 1 nap around noon) because we noticed the days he napped, the harder it was to get him to go to bed. Well, even without naps, bedtime is hell. We lay him down, read him a story, and he is up once we leave the room. He doesnt want us in there, he just wants to be up. We've tried just repeatedly laying him down without saying anything to him, doesnt work. His bedtime is 7:30pm now, but average time he finally falls asleep is 11pm, so you can imagine the night we have. He will be totally dead tierd, practically falling asleep, but wont stop getting up. Doesnt matter what we say or do, he just keeps doing it. Its soo frustrating some nights. Any advice?????

i'm just curious, because my 2 year old has most of his teeth(quite a few molars too) but doesn't seem to be able to chew salad very well. he can eat most foods, including raw fruits and some meats without difficulty chewing. however, i will occasionally give him a leaf of lettuce and he will munch on it, then spit it out, still intact.
i don't think the flavor has much to do with it...i'm pretty sure he just isn't used to the texture of lettuce(i mainly eat mixed greens).
is 2 just not a safe age to eat lettuce? what about other raw vegetables? if i cut them up small enough will he be ok? so far, he has only been able to eat tomatoes...i love raw veggies, but i understand if i will still have to cook his. thank you for the advice. :-)

I have a two-year old son and am looking forward to enrolling him in a part-time child care center. Are there certain questions I should be asking the care provider (eg, safety questions)? Anything will help, thanks.

I have been somewhat training my daughter the gently way by letting her choose if she wants to go on the potty or not. Everything I have heard about potty training says not to make it a power struggle, but now she just wont go. She tells me after she poops and I know that she knows when she is pooping because she leaves the room to be by herself but she wont go on the potty. She also was trying to go pee on the potty all the time but now she rarely goes, once she realized this was a full time thing she said no way and just stopped, so basically i am stuck with a child who is ready in all aspects ( except she cant pull up her pants) but wont go. She refuses to wear pull ups, I even bought the cool alert ones but she pees like a boy...forward not down so they didnt work. I dont know any options except to fight with her and tell her that she has to go and then force the panties on. I have explained that she is a big girl and gone through ever speech I know about why she should go on

Our two year old often doesn't want to eat at dinner, she'd rather run around and play. Then she's hungry later and demands to eat when it's bedtime. We can't force her to eat at dinnertime (even if we wanted to), and we're reluctant to put her to bed hungry. What should we do?

My daughter is 2 1/2 and we just recently started taking showers together ( she always hated water over her head but now she likes it ). I have always kept an open door policy with her, she sees me naked all the time ( you know what I mean, not pervertedly ) and I dont have a problem with it, we are both females. She knows the rule of no touching and she doesnt break it. We also used to have baths together when she was small. I am a single mother so being able to kill two birds with one stone is a blessing, and she has bad ecxema so showers are better for her anyway. Is she too old for this, or should it be no problem.

even though we make sleep early, still when it comes to waking him up, it's a nightmare. i have to physically carry him to the shower to start him up. however, once he gets his bath he becomes "normal". but the time in between the bed and the shower, it's a constant battle to make him go by himself.

Would appreciate if you share your experiences of having an autistic child. The characteristic and their development. Have done my researched on the subject but i find that those who are experiencing it first hand could relate with me better. I want to detect whether my son 20mths has the same charater as i've been told by someone that he may be . By the way he is going for the development check cos he's not talking yet just babbling.

I have 3 year old twins....one has been COMPLETELY trained (not even bedtime diapers) for a few months, and the other one does "pee-pee" on the potty, but asks for a diaper to go poop. SHE KNOWS WHEN SHE NEEDS TO GO, but she refuses to do it on the potty anymore. (She actually did poop on the potty a few times in December, but now refuses.)

We have tried to tell her that there aren't any diapers, but she knows there are because she still needs them at night.

We've tried telling her that we are going to get a diaper, and she should just sit on the potty until we come back (and then we naturally stall) but she will actually hold it!

She will even hold it all day at daycare until she comes home so she can have a diaper!

We are at our wits end. 3 years of poopie diapers (remember - TWINS!) has been MORE than enough for me.

Right now we have let her pick out a toy, and we've bought it, but she can't have it until she does 3 days of poopie on the potty....any other other advice?

My son loves to take a bath, but when it comes to rinsing out the shampoo he hates it. I have tried to teach him to look up, but he still freaks out and throws his head forward which allows the water to get into his face. Is there any tricks out there that anyone can suggest?
