She does anything in her power not to have to do anything and it makes me crazy. I need a new strategy. We've tried making it a game, we've tried punishments, rewards, and splitting up the job into pieces. In the end, if it involves her stopping what she wants to do, she won't have it. She's easily the stubbornest person I've ever met. She'd rather toys get thrown away than pick them up. She's out middle child and for the most part well behaved. Help?

My boyfriend is in the military station in Kosovo. I guess they don't make non-toxic finger paint over there... He was finger painting with a little girl in an orphanage and now he has purple stains on his face, hands and arms lol... Any ideas on how to get it off?

How do I know if he is really smart for his age? He says 6 words (touch, that, shoes, uh oh, mama, dada, and something else but I can't remeber right now!) and he understands everything I tell him to do and everything else.

How much time should I spend with my 16 month old? I am a SAHM and I go to college online plus do all of the housework, bills, cook, etc. I feel like I am not spending enough time with him although I play with him and read to him. I am very busy! He's seems happy and content to play by himself sometimes. How much time should I spend with him? I feel like I don't spend a lot of time with him...

My daycar provider just puts all of the kids in front of the tv and lets them lay down for quiet time, but my 2 year old is used to a nap by himslef with nothing on. His sleep schedule is completely messed up and he is really cranky. He was so tired last night that he crashed about six and was up again at eight. That is his normal bed time and then he wouldn't go back to sleep until almost eleven last night! This is really getting out of hand! HELP

Im 21 and a soon to be step mom to a great 4 yr old boy. He;s always so great for us. But at his mommys it s different, he gets what he wants there by throwing a little fit. I know that is bad for him. Now he has figured out that it hurts us to say 'i want my mommy and paul (her bf)' and when hes with just me and something goes wrong, he'll say "i want my daddy" I feel somewhat responsible for this because he sees how upset it makes me. Is there anyway I can undo that? All I want is for him to love me, but he doesnt want to be with us as much because we arent able to give him everything he wants. He got hysterical on the phone w/ his mom last night (because his dad wouldnt turn the tv on) and she, of course, drove an hour away to get him. Which I didnt agree with,. And now he has even said to them that daddy is mean. This all hurts so bad. Can someone give me advice on any of this or advice on how to be a good stepmother? Should i just give him everything he wants so he will love me?

I have a 14 month old who I still check in on periodically thru out the night and there are mornings where if I wake before him I am gripped with fear when I walk towards his crib thinking whatif I found him dead. Do any of you have this fear? Is it normal or paranoid? When are you out of the woods for SIDS? I read an article in PARENTING that a 15 month old died from SIDS isnt that a bit old?

She deliberately keeps chucking her toys over the fence and it's driving me mad. Luckily we have a lovely neighbour who keeps himself to himself and he laughed when I went round to apologise this morning... but I am sure it must annoy him and it REALLY annoys me.
