building blocks, doodlepro(teaches her how to write), or any toys that teach coordinations and hand uses.

It's not the toys that will make your daughter smart. It is your interaction with her that will make her smart. The toys are just a prop for you to use in your play with her. Books are wonderful, because when you are reading to your daughter, you help her language development. Some of my favorite books for kids that age are Good Night Moon and BAA, Moo, LaLaLa. Musical toys are great - drums, maracas, etc. You can sing songs to her and play the instruments in rhythm to the music. This will help your daughter's brain develop math skills. Simple puzzles and shape sorters help to teach your child to problem solve.

There are no toys that will actually make a child smarter, but there are educational toys that help teach. One on one interaction with parents is more helpful, like reading to them everyday, and using the toys with them. Place your finger under each word as you read it so they know which direction to read. My son is not quite two yet (Next month) and he will open a book and follow the words with his finger like my husband and I do.

The best way to make a child reach his/her full potential is to constantly stimulate his/her senses and brain. You and your husband are the best persons to do that, by talking to her all the time, explaining what you are doing, explaining what is going on, etc. Books are also good bets - read with her, point out the pictures, say the words that correspond to the pictures, keep her interested.

The best toy in the world to make your kid smart, is YOU!
You have to talk to her, play with her, sing to her, read to her, let her explore the environment in a safe way and teach her.

Phonics. It's not a toy, and a little spendy, but worth it. As far as toys, I'd look for puzzles and children's books that have sounds as you open each page.

Anything that helps train the coordination of hands and eyes ... those that let her put square block in square hole and stuff like that.
