my son told me over a week-long break from the daycare that the grandma (the 70 yo mother of the daycare owner) had showed him her nipples and asked if wanted some milk. i was at the police department in hours to press charges. the police notified me that so long as she didn't molest him there was nothing they could do. no one would help me more than that.
i'm glad i taught my son the words he needed to verbalize that. he was able to accurately give details even to the police.

The daycare my neice used to go to got shut down because over a 3 week period, the staff locked a baby with severe asthma in the daycare at night ( the mom was running late and had called to say so) 1 1/2 weeks later a little girl got locked outside of the daycare after park time. (daycare is on a busy road) and shortly after that a child was severly injured after falling off of faulty gym equimpment. YIKES! worst part is, My kids were on the waiting list when all this happened.

I let a 19 year old babysit my kids. There were 4 of them at the time. She lived with her step dad and stepbrothers who seemed to be home all the time. I wanted to give her a chance to show me that she was responsible because I was given the same chance when I was her age. My daughter would tell me about the inappropriate movies they were allowed to watch at the babysitter's house and about weird things the guys said and did. I asked the girl to babysit at my house instead but she insisted that she had to be home to answer the phones for her boyfriend's business. I had to let her go.
I also worked at a bad daycare once. I had my 3 year old son there all day because I had a morning job too and then picked up my 5 yr. old from the bus stop and took her with me to work. My son was quiet and shy but learned to be aggressive and hit at the school. I quit after four months because I was pregnant and the job was too stressful as the ratio was illegal: sometimes 30 kids to 2 adults. There was a kid that always bit everyone and on my last day, my son bit him! His grandma got mad, but I didn't care - I was out of there!

When me and my brother younger, I was 7 and my brother was 3. My parents put us in a daycare at a church. My brother would always scream bloody murder for me and he never did this before. At nap time I could hear him screaming for me, I tried to sneak in to check on him, but got caught. All during this my brother had started wetting the bed again. I told my mom was he was doing and she finally took us out of daycare. When my brother turned 6 years old, he finally was able to tell us that had happened to him. The workers force feed the babies and strapped then to their cribs all day. For some reason my brother got put with the babies. My mom confronted the church, and found out that the people that were running the daycare had been fired shortly after we had left.

I will never put my children in daycare, because of this incident.

Actually I was the baby-sitter and was 14 and babysitting for a lady with 4 boys. She was on welfare and a TOTAL SLOB. She was even too lazy to feed her son or teach him how to use a spoon. He was almost 3 and all she did was put baby food in a feeder cup and toss it on the high-chair tray. Here I was 14 and having to teach her son to eat. She also did drug deals in her house while I was in the house.

this is my oldest sisters story:

when my oldest sister was still an only child(she was 3 i think) she went to "debbie's daycare". she wet the bed during nap time ONCE and when my mom came to pick her up that day, Debbie told my mom that my sister did it because she hated my mom. that was about the biggest load of bs anyone ever heard... needless to say, my sister never went back.
