My daughter is 2 1/2 and we just recently started taking showers together ( she always hated water over her head but now she likes it ). I have always kept an open door policy with her, she sees me naked all the time ( you know what I mean, not pervertedly ) and I dont have a problem with it, we are both females. She knows the rule of no touching and she doesnt break it. We also used to have baths together when she was small. I am a single mother so being able to kill two birds with one stone is a blessing, and she has bad ecxema so showers are better for her anyway. Is she too old for this, or should it be no problem.

I don't see any problem with it because you are both females. Actually, I don't think it's so bad for a little boy either at that age. My friend's kid won't even get in the tub unless his toys are in there. So, you're doing pretty good to get her to shower! When she's older, she'll probably not want you to see her naked and that would be too old for her to take a shower with you. So long as you're both females, I wouldn't want to give an age limit. It really depends on her maturity.

For a boy, I imagine I'd cut it off at 5. And he can play in the bath while you watch he doesn't drown himself, but he needs to stop seeing you naked all the time! That way, you can better teach him to stay clothed around girls preferably until he is married. Just explain to him that it was okay when he was little but he's a big boy now! or something like that.

I don't have a tub so me and my 2 and a half daughter shower together. Its not a problem. When I move and I get a tub we'll bathe together. If she insists. When she is old enough to bathe her self effectively say around 5 We won't and also if she gets to big and there isn't any room we won't bathe together. Your right it is efficient to do this.

I would say that the age to stop same sex bathing is when no further instruction or assistance is required for the child to bath on his/her own.

2 1/2 - I seriously doubt if that's a problem.

I don't have kids, I am in my 20's and I remember taking showers with my mom up until I was at least 4 or 5. I never felt this was wrong, I don't ever remember being uncomfortable or feeling weird. She used to have to help me wash my hair. I think it's ok.

With the same sex parent I think you can push the issue until a further age. Maybe 4 or 5. With the opposite sex parent I would say 3. That is a really tough question. I think you have to just use your jugdement. Good question...a real thinker!

I remember taking baths with my mom at the age of four, and I don't think I am scarred from it. She's a girl, too, so I don't have a problem with it. If you had a boy, I'd say no.

Much Love!!

i would say as long as your both comfy .. uy could always have her get in with u and let her finish while your getting dressed that will help her get used to showers alone
