He's basically seeking attention... if you speak to him or even make eye contact with him then he's got what he wanted and will do it again.

When he comes to you don't say a word, smile or look directly at him. Just pick him up and put him back to bed. Don't kiss him goodnight, wave at him or look back. In fact be as boring and "un-motherly" as you can. That way there will be no reward for him visiting you.

You might also want to consider putting a child gate across his bedroom door so he can't get out of his room to find you. There will probably be tears but don't give in - you may find he's fallen asleep by the gate after a while but as long as he's OK then just leave him there (chances are if he wakes up again he'll climb back into bed on his own).

This may all seem very harsh and "bad parent" but in a couple of weeks he'll be fine... and it's a lot better to get this sort of behaviour dealt with at age two than at, say, 5 or 10...

he is used to having you next to him while nursing. It may be just a pattern for food/drink. try and give him a little more during the day. When he comes to you at night, put him back in his bed and tell him it is night time. My son still nuzzles my breast and he has been weaned for 3 months. He is 15 months. give him one of your t-shirts that has your scent on it. it will help him sleep better.

Be a good parent, you have to tell the signals coming out from your baby. Signal to call for attention? Signal of hunger? Signals of pain or cold? Signal of loneliness? Your baby can't talk, so they cry a lot to give you signals. The sounds coming from your child might be a little different telling different stories. There is no quick and fast rule to parent and child relationship. You have to develop the understanding of your child. Ignoring your child's call for companionship in the middle of the night may give you a good night's sleep, but you may end up with having an insecure child when he grows up. But too much attention may cause your child to be too dependent, and lack of self-control. One way is to talk a lot to your child, and don't necessary need to hold him up from the cradle in the middle of the night, and try to increase the interval when you are not by his side. They can understand your sweet voice and don't underestimate your child's English standard.

Put him to bed at a regular time, read him a story until he nods off. Try not to let him take a nap in the afternoon and be careful what you feed him for dinner. Some foods make kids hyper!! You have a few suggestions here my dear good luck.

good reason to say this.. does ur son wet the bed ?

1. More liquid in dinner time is one reason to wake up
2. Your son is not getting tired.
3. if he has got scared or dreams wake him up, it could be one big reason.

so make the fellow tired. play a hell lot with him. keep the water little less when he takes his dinner.
