I just went through this with my son. he just decided he wasn't going to use the pot anymore. At first he was getting spanked and that didn't help any. So I went to the store and bought the plastic underwear covers to put over his underwear and refused to by diapers which is what he wanted. We had to go for weeks like that, while we would take him to the bathroom several times during the day, until he decided to start using the pot again. We made a big deal out of it every time he would be a big boy ( special snack, special 1 on 1 time, anything to make him feel more special than he does the rest of the day). You also need a lot of patients! Good luck.

No suggestions but I would like to know how you got her potty trained in the first place. I have a 1 1/2 year old and oh boy it's tough

Why in the world would anyone spank or suggest you spank a child for not using the potty.....Thats abuse.

She will have set backs. Give her time and plenty of support and don't embarrass her or yell at her about it. Did you get a little lax with her meaning did you quit offering to take her to the potty when she started to use it all the time?? Maybe just your continuing offers and leading her the bathroom with get her back on track.

Please don't punish her!! Sometimes when toddlers potty train early they have setbacks. She may be just needing your attention right now and you have to admit that while diapering her she has your full attention. My son went through the same thing. We just diapered him like it was an everyday normal occurrence and spent some extra time reading and playing with him. We told him that when he went into big boy pants we would be able to go to the zoo etc... and wouldn't that be exciting. Within 2 weeks he was ready to be out of those uncomfortable diapers and back into big boy pants. Good Luck

Most likely, this is a phase. If she's already learned, and stopped, she'll get over it and start again.

I do also agree with the person who posted that keeping her in underwear will help. It sounds mean, but going in her underwear may cause her to feel shameful and may motivate her.

Good luck!

Let her lead 2 is still very young in it's normal for them to regress certain skills they had before. I know it is probably frustrating for you, but give her time, she'll let you know when she is ready for the potty again.

Is there a new baby in the house? Sometimes a new baby and the attention the baby is getting can be a factor.
