I am lucky... I get to work while my child attends the same preschool that I work at. I have been a preschool teacher for several years, and both of my children have attended preschool at the same preschool where I have taught. It gives me piece of mind knowing that they are close if they need me, knowing the staff intimately, and that I am just a room away. It can be hard to leave your young child at daycare, but if you find a place you trust, it can be the best early experience for your child.

I do. I just moved to a new town, and after two months have found a daycare where I know he's okay. He wasn't happy with the last daycare and neither was I because it took me an hour just to pick him up and bring him home.

I work full time and have a 14 month old. I chose to have my mom babysit him instead of the daycare. However, I do pay my mom the rate I would pay at daycare!

The classroom ratio in Mi is 1 adult per 4 infant/toddlers(at 27 months ratio changes to 1 adult to 8 children)

My two yo goes to day care twice each week. She loves playing with the other kids and with toys and bikes she wouldnt normally play with. She gets excited the night before she goes and packs her bag mostly herself. I wonder if you are asking this question because you feel guilty? You shouldnt. They really do need to interact with other children, and it really helps with sharing, toilet training, and many other things they wouldnt do if they were at home with you.
