She sort of chews & sucks her tongue especially when she is tired. I am worried she may be damaging her teeth/ bite.

No it is not damaging to her teeth or bite. She likes the texture of her own tongue, it is comforting to her when she is tired. Leave her alone.

it must be a nerve element. My little cousin had a nerve subject and would walk around plucking her hair out strand by using strand. The chewing would carry him a feeling of relief. in step with probability the subsequent time you spot him doing this you may distract him. call him over to play a board game or take him exterior to get his strategies off of it. in case you distract him sufficient from it, it might end. despite if it is regular. I see a number of young ones that try this.

Ignore the first 4 answers.... they`re just losers trying to impress their Loser friends. Buy her a dummy. She isnt sucking her tongue, she`s mimicking sucking a teet. Its a fail safe for toddlers. They make this action when they feel tired, or un easy.

Show her more love / time at bed time. and show her that bed time is OK, nothing to worry about.

Tell her that she'll hurt her tongue if she doesn't stop and that she won't be able to talk or lick ice cream if she hurts her tongue. I dunno, might work! :)
