I have the sweetest little 3yr. old in the world, but she is very, very sensitive about almost everything. She is very attached to her mother. Her mood almost changes when mommy is around. With me, she is totally different. She doesn't need me as much as her mommy. When mommy is around, she wants to be held, is whiny and cryish, moody, and sensitive to everything in her environment. What do you suggest?

Anyone have a toyota matrix? We're looking at one, for two boys in convertible carseats - evenflo triumphs - and wondering how scrunched/ they'll be, kicking the seat, etc? With two kids, test driving is a pain without a sitter, so doing some research first.

and he will scratch himself bloody on his arms, legs and back. I use perfume/dye free laundry soap, bath wash/shampoo for sensitive skin, have tried cortizone cream (Recommended by his doctor) and nothing seems to help. He has extremely dry skin also. I put lotion for sensitive skin on with every diaper change, use hypo-allergenic wipes (For sensitive skin) and nothing is helping. I can take him back to the doc until after the 1st because that's when hubby's new insurance kicks in and we are completely broke. Any ideas on what else I can try to help my poor little guy?

My son will turn 3 in the end of May. He is currently receiving therapy for his speech delay and sensory processing issues. He has made huge progress with his speech but is still about 6 months behind his peers. He has also made tremendous progress with his sensory issues. We help him get organized and most days are great with only a few off days.

I recently discovered after talking with my son's therapists that while he has a speech delay he has many strengths and advanced skills. Some skills ranging from a 4 year old to a 1st grader, so I am told. He knows all of his colors, shapes, letters, and how to count up to ten. He can also spell small words completely on his own with magnets, count somewhat accurately up to 20, complete puzzles/games designed for children ages 4+. He can also use the mouse completely on his own to play his favorite educational computer games.

If my son qualifies for SE preschool should I place him there even though he is so bright?

Hi everyone, I was hoping to get some advice from anyone here who may have had similar problems. I have a friend who's son just turned 5, and still isn't potty trained. He began potty training and then just didn't want to have anything to do with it anymore. His parents have tried everything, rewards/punishments just don't work. Just taking off his diaper causes him to hold it in until he can't any longer and makes a mess. He just doesn't want to use the potty. This is causing a lot of problems, he is supposed to begin Kingergarten in the fall, so this needs to be resolved over the summer. Has anyone had similar issues with an older child that can offer advice??

Thanks so much!

My son is apparently prone to diarreah occasionally, he has it occasionally with no other symptoms of sickness. The daycare wont let the kids who have this, return to daycare for 24 hours after they have 3 runny bowel movements, unless they have a dr's note that says they aren't contagious.
Anyone else had to deal with this?

It is a little wooden bench with pegs for a toddler to hammer on. The old ones were wood with colored pegs, red legs (or ends) on the bench and a blue hammer. Do you know the manufacturer?

Heres what I'm going to do and I would like any other positive advice. First she is 26 mo and has a 8 mo old brother who needs her crib. We are going to set up her bed next to her crib for a week I'm going to make a countdown chart to her big girl bed. Everynight were are going to talk about it and tear a day off. I'm hoping after a week she will be ok with the idea. Does anyone have any other suggestion from experience? Thank you.

my 3 (almost 4) year old has been baby sat by my mother his whole life. He's really sweet to me at home, but when we're there, he says he hates me and kicks me when I tell him it's time to go home. Once I get him home, he's fine. Any suggestions on how to make him respect me at my parent's? Oh, I'm also a single mother.

My son is 2 years old and still drinks his milk from a bottle - - warm. (He drinks juice and water from a sippy cup.) As far as I'm concerned I have a two-fold issue - the fact that he will only drink his milk warm AND the fact that he's still drinking milk from a bottle. If I give him milk in a cup (even warmed) he throws it down. For those of you who have actually been in this same situation with your toddler, how did you wean them from them from drinking their milk warmed? I'm ready to go cold turkey on the bottle part. We are throwing them out next week. However, I'm not so sure it's a good idea to throw the bottles out cold turkey AND stop warming the milk all at the same time. Should I offer him warmed milk in a cup (only) and once he's gotten over the bottle addiction, THEN worry about getting him to the point of drinking cold milk. Please no judgemental comments. My son does NOT go to bed with a bottle and his teeth are brushed every night after he has his milk.

Every since we moved on post, my daughter has been afraid to be alone in her room, she says she is afraid the bad guys are going to come to find her daddy. I feel it is partially my fault because she asked why daddy had to go on the ship and be away from us for such a long time, I told her daddy was a hero. She says heroes fight bad guys and every since......I feel so bad. HELP! what can I do to fix this?

My son turns 1 tommorrow I have been slowly introducing him to cows milk for a while now with cereal and yoghurt. I've been told they can have cows milk instead of formula from 12 months what is usually the transition as he is on 4 bottles a day now and hes on anti reflux formula . I 've noticed there is a lot of toddler formulas on the market are these just money spinners and not really necessary? Or do Ikeep going with my current formula. thanks in advance

My husband and I are thinking of taking a vacation to Sea World in San Antonio this summer. What is there for kids to do at this age? I know they have a little water lagoon and kid shows. What about age - appropriate rides? And being that a two-day pass is not much more money, is there enough to do to spend two days there? Any comments or experiences would be appreciated.

I am homeshooling my son for Preschool (he's 4 and a half ) and He's a lefty. I'm trying to teach him how to write correctly now before he develops bad habits but I can't even figure out how to help him learn to hold his pencil correctly. I know he is a lefty byond a doubt and I am lacking the coordination to figure this out and help him. Has any one else gone through this or does anyone have any advice?? He is already easily frustrated when his letters don't come out perfect I don'twant me not being sure how he should grip his pencil (since it's kinda backwards from how I do it) to make it worse. Hope I don't sound like an idiot here. I'm not blonde but pretty badly uncoordinated. Thanks!!
