Everything we've heard from our friends is not to push it and let them want to do it. We're going thru it now with our 2 1/2 year old and he would be on that potty all day long if we let him. Also get the seats for on top of the toilet, and a little step stool. I dont know why anyone would ever want to clean a potty chair. He's also digging is pullups. We heard the kind with the gel can get pretty gross though.
We also rented the Elmos Potty DVD from the library.

Well, most importantly, she needs to be ready! If she is not ready, it is going to be a lot more frustrating for the both of you. What I did with my daughter is buy her some real panties, not pull ups. To my children, pull ups were just like a diaper. But, I bought her panties and let her pick them out (she picked Dora) and I told her that if she went all day without pottying on herself that we would go and have ice cream. There are tons of things that you can offer as an incentive. You know your daughter best and what she likes. Generally, you should take them to the bathroom every thirty minutes. My daughter was almost 3 when we started this, so your daughter may not be ready, don't push her, she will get frustrated and you will find yourself potty training several times! Good luck!

Explain to her what is happening.
Put her stright into big girl pants, (take her to the shop to pick her own).
Take her to the potty or toliet which ever she prefere every 30 mins, whether she needs to go or not.
Set her on it tell her to do a pee pee. If she starts to get distracted and talk to u about other things, just say 'do a pee pee thats a good girl'
If she doesnt go within 5/10mins take her away. Bring her back again in another 30mins.
When she goes make a massive fuss, way over the top even do a little dance just to let her know how smart she has been
Use stars on a star chart every time she goes, or even use a smiley face chart, do it on the computer and she can draw her own smiley face when she uses the toliet.

just show her the potty expleain what it is. Show her how to use it. I'm in the process of toilet training my son and we sing all different songs. When he goes in the potty he gets a boy sticker and if he does both pee and poo he gets two. My mother in law gives him smarties as a reward for using the potty. Just try something out and go with what every you feel more comfortable with and works the best. Good Luck.

Hey there, omg i hated potty training, i didnt know where to start! we picked a good few days when we were staying in or not really going far, took off my little girls nappies threw them 'all' away and let my little one run around feeling all grown up in her new knickers that she picked out (and didnt want to ruin) and bought her special handwash (kandoooo)! just for her to use and thats it we have never looked back, yes she did have accidents now and then but hey no ones perfect! You could try taking you little one out and choosing her fav knickers and let her choose some handwash (she will want to go into loo) and i wish you the vry best of luck!! XX

I have been here, done it, ( wrong ) Please note, give more attention to her when she goes instead of "misses" My first daughter I made this mistake. Just say someting to the point, of oops, you can do it next time. (whatever word you chose to use . for potty) Another hint, My daugther grew to believe "potty" meant ONLY pee. so you might want to work a way into that. Good luck. feel free to email me if you need anyting i have 3 kids. and i know potty LOL
