I know exactly what you're talking about because I go through the same things with my daughters they love chocolate milk and sometimes it gets nasty looking no the inside but I just was it with soap and water and sometimes a q-tip then I boil water and just like I did with the nipples on their bottles I put them in the boiling water for a few minutes to sterilize them. Try that the hot water always works for me. Good luck!

If dishwasher safe: Quick & Easy way.
Try a Vegitable Steamer. "keep on eye on it".
Usually 3-5 minutes should do the trick. Be CAREFUL as depending on what brand cup & plastic it is made out of.. it could soften and loose its shape.
Also, allow it plenty of time to cool down.
most Dollar stores & Walmart sell disposable cups in sets of 3 to 5 and they can be rewashed and easy to toss. (hey- who has not lost a cup on a day out.with a toddler.) It is easier to accept the loss when you know it only cost one dollar. And if you buy the matching little snack cups, the lids are usually interchangeable with the sippy cups, so you can have multi sizes and colors for just a buck each set. Good luck.

What brand of sippy cup do you have? All the ones I've seen & have for my daughter have a soft rubber part that pops off, you just scrub that along with the cup, then snap the rubber part back on when it's all dry. Playtex is a great brand that really doesn't leak, and you can wash all the parts easily.

everytime i had to clean my daughters sippy cups and they didn't want to come clean with soap and water, i would put water and a little dawn dish detergent in a pot and put it on the stove. i would let it boil for about 30 minutes and that always seemed to do the trick.

Soak it in hot water with dish soap. Then use a nipple brush to get out the gunk. I like the ones made by Dr. Brown. They rock and can really get into all the nooks and crannies because they are so thin. I've also heard you can buy a cheap kids paint brush set and use it for the same reason.

The best way to clean it, is like when you cleaned bottles. Use a small bottle cleaner head to get into where the piece is and even remove it for cleaning.
I would stay away from harsh chemicals and only use hot soapy water and then rinse well.

There is a bottle brush at Target that has a built in cleaner for sippies and nipples. We bought 2 of them and they work great. They have a suction cop on the bottom so you can stick it right on the sink. I think it was by NUby or gerber can't remember wich one. Look for it, I love it!!

Use the nipple part of the bottle brush or a q-tip with soapy water. I always kept spare pieces on hand just in case. But if you don't wash them, they will get so nasty.
