My friend feeds her 15 month old child, two packets of oatmeal each morning. Does anyone besides me, think that maybe that is too much for his little stomach?? Should I say something to her??

Some morning my son eats 2 packets other mornings he eats one. If he asks for more he gets it. He is almost 2 now. He is also skinny as a rail and has a hard time keeping his pants up. If he isn't being forced to eat it is fine. As one other person said children will determine when they are full. My son will play with his food when he is full. Kids will also eat more during a growth spurt and then two weeks later, not eat a single thing.

I have a big eater, too. He can eat two packets of oatmeal and want more. As long as the child wants that much and isn't being forced to eat it, I think it's fine.

I think its too much of the packets, but not too much oatmeal. Those often have tons of SUGAR. If they are, suggest plain ones and flavoring with jam,cut up craisens, flax seed, pure maple syrup, etc.

If the baby eats that much oatmeal, great. Kids will regulate their own eating habits. If you can find a healthy food that your kids love to eat, that's wonderful.
