My daughter is well over 2 now and will be 3 in 4 months and yet I can't seem to get her to go potty in the toilet. I've tried buying stuff like Dora seats and pull ups to attract her attention and she still does it in her diaper. Sometimes I catch her trying to go and quickly lift her off to the restroom and she simply won't go like she's afraid to release or something. Her younger sister is 16 months and I'm really trying to stop her as I am due to have my third baby in 3 months and hope not to be dealing with three kids in diapers. Do any of you kind and expert moms know how I can encourage her not to go in her diapers? Pls. help!

Left hubby 2 mo ago. Long story, had felony warrant. Well, we have been speaking to one another so 3 yr old daughter can talk to him (we are 2000 miles away from him). This went on up until 3 wks ago when he dropped contact. Problem is that every time she got off phone with her dad, she would start to act out. I know that it is her way of showing her confusion over the situation. I would not mind letting him see her, but he would have to come back to WA to do that and this is where his warrant is. I do not want to risk him getting arrested and her getting put in a foster home if she were with him. Well, he contacted me again via email just last night wanting to talk to her. Claims he has been busy with work (true or not, I do not know for sure). I want them to talk, but I am concerned about her acting out or getting their bond back only to have him drop off the face of the planet again. She has not asked for him, but I want to do the right thing.

My children are two and four and like a lot of different cartoons. Problem is, most of them show mommy and daddy, and their father is MIA. Now my daughter is having problems at school because she is being teased and has regressed to the point that she went in her pants three times last week. Is there cartoons or videos that show children with only one parent on the market? Or any character they can relate to close to such a description? I have started looking for help fom some agencies for the other issues. I just want to make their life as 'normal' as possible within the structure that ahs been put before them.

I have a small petite 8 yo boy that weighs 45 lbs. When he gets hurt or severly scolded, or given consequences for behavior before the behavior occurs. He sometimes goes into a complete loss of self control screaming and crying, groaning like a wild animal and has said multiple self injury statements escalating to the point of saying He was going to get his dad's gun and kill himeself. I don't react to his behavior. Some people say he is manipulating me while others jaws drop at the mention of him saying this. He is supposed to be ADHD, but he makes A'and B's and is no longer on meds. His dad is an alcoholic with a host of issues and my son doesn't see him much. I work reg. hours and don't give into my sons every want. His Dad says it must be me because he lives with me. Any suggestions would be great.

My husband wants the binky to go. I've been told the bottle should be gone around a year. What's a parent to do?

Is it okay to pull them both away at once, or should we time it? Which one first? How far apart?
