Instead of getting him a toy of sorts, how about a movie package...... 2 tickets to the theater to see a movie with popcorn & candy & slurpee.....
or how about books..... or how about a CD walkman with a KIDZBOP cd (ask the staff...they'll know what it is).....or how about a wallet with $10 in it.........
but if you're looking for the toy, how about the LeapFrog toys - they are GREAT. I don't know any kid who hasn't liked it. My 6 year old son also loves his Gameboy and VideoNow!!!
Good Luck!

I hate having to search for a present for a child. They have so much that it is hard to find something nice they don't already have. So frustrating...
Does he have a V Smile? If so, how about the Smartridges that go with it?
A game boy? I don't know how much you want to spend but at this age they can start playing games on them.
Magnetix play set? or Tinker Toys? Boys love these. They also love Lego Sets and Lincoln Logs.
Computer Games? You can find computer games geared toward preschoolers.
Personal CD player and some CDs. Boys and girls both love this. Such a sign that they are growing up.
Sleeping Bag (they have the ones that blow up now)
Bookbag and Lunchbox. Always a hit.
At 4 they start really liking board games. Memory, Guess Who, Monopoly Junior, Go Fish, Candy Land, Disney Scene It, Cariboo, Chutes and Ladders, Concentration, Don't Break The Ice, High Ho Cherry O, Mousetrap...
With all the toys does he have a storage system with the bins for his toys? Most children love having the toys organized and easy to find.
Don't forget simple things like harder puzzles with smaller pieces and toys with smaller parts that he may not have enjoyed before. Also longer books and books that really encourage reading.
If you are spending a larger amount of money a personal DVD player that he can take places is a wonderful gift too.
Good Luck. SD

If he has all the clothes and toys in they world - you should get him something that will not just be played with and tossed aside. I always love when my kids get books as gifts. They are educational, last for a long time, dont make a big mess for mom to clean up, can be read over and over, are great to pass the younger siblings, and create quality time for child and parent.
What could be better?!

BOOKS! Books are a always a great gift for kids at any age. And, because children's books are that expensive, you can get more than one. You can pick a theme, like the ocean, and buy picture books that have to do with the ocean. You're not only contributing to the imagination and curiosity of this child's, but you're also contributing to his overall development! I'm a 1st grade teacher, and during Christmas when most classes have a Secret Santa Exchange, we have a book exchange! The kids love it!

If he already has a lot of toys and clothes, maybe you could take him to a childrens museum, start a savings account, get a savings bond, maybe buy a leap frog learning game (those are always nice). Possibly buy him flash cards to learn animals, colors, shapes, emotions, etc. ummm.. maybe see if there is a really good artist who could draw a cartoon picture of him so that he can hang it in his room. Just some ideas. Good luck.

How about a personalized book? Kids love to hear their name in the storyline. Go to this website http://www.tlc-expressions.com They have lots of titles like Batman, Spider-Man, Dinosaur Land, Sesame Street, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Sports titles and so many more. Check it out - they're very reasonably priced, and make a wonderful & unique gift... Good Luck!

Hello...
My daughter is turning 4 on Friday. We got her a set of blocks and a block table. You know the tables with the top that the blocks fit onto. She has everything as well and plays with none of it. I am amazed to say she has been sitting at that table with the blocks for 3 days now. She's playing with it right now. Just a suggestion. (Walmart or Target have these in stock!)

How about a costume of some sort? Kids love to play dress up, even little boys! Or crayons and coloring books are always good for kids.

I think a 4 year old is a little too young for anything electronic.
I'd suggest books and/or CDs for kids.

Leapfrog computerized toys are great. They're interactive, and teach children reading and counting. He's about the right age for something like that, and anything that talks or makes noise is always going to capture his interest.
