My child started daycare at 6 weeks but that's because I had to go to work. She is 42 months now and is still in daycare. I might have her start headstart at 47 months. But it really depends on the mother because I know children who didn't set foot in a school until elementary.

My daughter started preschool at 34 months old. She goes 2 mornings a week. Her school requires the kids to be at least 2 and potty-trained. She won't start kindergarten til she's 5 1/2.

My daughter will be 4 years (48 months) the end of March and she still isn't in school. I don't plan on putting her in a preschool until this fall, when she will be 53 months. Although my friend started her son in a preschool when he was around 45 months.

Pre-schools won't usually take children till they are 48 mos (4 yrs) However if they are potty trained some high schools have child development classes that take children younger. My daughter went to 1 and she absolutely loved it now she can't wait to start pre-school in the fall.

My daughter started day care when she was 22 months old. She was in pre school at 36 months because they didn't have preschool for under three where we lived.

My son is 48months and no he is not in school. I purchased school supplies like paint, crayons, scissors, paintbrushes... we make playdo, fingerpaint, bake, do TONS of crafts, storytime, ABC, 123 LOTS of activites, we do playgroups, field trips so no you don't have to send him off to school at such a young age. He will have so many years in school. Why not take the time and enjoy the time with your son. There are lots of sites where you can print worksheets off for free and craft sites you can print templates. Have fun with him at home. make puppets, imaginative play, dress up and if you are worried he is not going to school, do school at home with him for a few months and see how he likes it. My son will be going to kindergarten next sept so I know I will miss him but I get to do all the fun things with him now.

He's too young at a little over a year old now.
Kids start nursery school at 4 years old. Wait until he is four years old.
After that is Kindergarten at 5 years old (start of regular school).
