My children are two and four and like a lot of different cartoons. Problem is, most of them show mommy and daddy, and their father is MIA. Now my daughter is having problems at school because she is being teased and has regressed to the point that she went in her pants three times last week. Is there cartoons or videos that show children with only one parent on the market? Or any character they can relate to close to such a description? I have started looking for help fom some agencies for the other issues. I just want to make their life as 'normal' as possible within the structure that ahs been put before them.

I try to be strong for them, but there were kids recently that my daughter said were teasing her because of it and she started having potty accidents at school due to 'regressing'. I don't talk much about it, I try to give them the world, but there are no males around when there were before - my brother was an overnight truck driver until recently and it has helped my kids having him around too. I know it is a phase, I just wish it was not affecting them. Thanks for the advice.

Finding Nemo - Nemo only has a father his mother is lost in the first 5 minuets of the film
Bambi 2 - it's pretty much all about bambi growing up with just his dad, and trying to impress his father.

I don't think there are any cartoons specifically marketed to single parrent children, but there are shows that have only one parrent in them, or do not revolve around the parent child relationship. I can't remember any mention of parrents in Blue's Clues, Full house had only a father, Hanna Montana just a father...
hope these help.

corduroy bear, the girl only lives with her mom, but may I just say something, your children shouldn't go through any distress because of this. If you are strong enough, emotionally, you can boost their self-esteem, without making it seem like they are the only one with this situation. Talk to them, find support group, find friends that are single parents, so they feel that it happens to other people too. children pick up you mood so easily, without you realizing it, so, don't feel sad about it, and they won't....
