We're having our daughters' birthday parties together next month because their birthdays are a week a part (the day not the year). Well, I was thinking about maybe showing a video slide-show of each of them. The slide shows wouldn't be any more than 5 minutes long and there will be two, one for each daughter. Does this sound tacky at all? Our girls will only be 2 and three and the people here will be friends and family. What do you think?

say you had a 1 1/2 year old, how would you handle a situation with a friends older daughter (like 3 years older) taking toys away from him, controlling him, bossing him around and subtly blocking him by taking or doing the very thing he was trying to do (ie. as he was climbing she beat him up the stairs and just sits there in the middle).. I do not want to burn a friend and be overly protective However, do not want to teach my son to be passive either??

My 3 year old son must wear his glasses due to a fast progression eye disease related to premature birth. We have tried everything we can think of....reward stickers for him to play with, kid-safe face paint, bribes of time alone with Mom or Grandparents at Library or Park, & the list goes on. He takes off & hides his glasses. He purposely breaks them. Anybody got any tricks that worked to get your kid to keep their glasses on?

I am 36 weeks pregnant and am trying to plan my son's third birthday party. I am a natural perfectionist and I am very picky with my image...like I need my family to see that I can keep everything together. The party is going to be in my home, so I have been slaving away cleaning and scrubbing--practically killing myself-- I feel like I need to be the perfect mommy all the time (I also have a 5 year old daughter) with the perfect home, and I'm trying to throw this "perfect" party, but in all reality, I'm exhausted!! What are some ways to help me get over this perfectionism and relax and enjoy the party??

Hi, I have a 7 yr old and a 4 yr old sons. They share a room, in fact, insist on sharing a double bed. The problem is that the 7 yr old wakes up and always comes into our room. At first it was in the middle of the night and we wouldn't even notice. Now he is in our room by 11 or 12. No matter how many times you bring him back, he wakes up the minuteyou budge from his bed and says he is scared. We cant let him "cry it out" because he will wake up his brother, also he is genuinly terrified. This is killing my husband and I, we cant read or sleep or have any privacy. Not to mention that I will be having a baby in about 2 weeks. What can we do to stop this??

Our son is 20 months and in the last few weeks he has got into a dreadful state whenever his mummy goes out the room. I know this is a normal stage of development but it is stressful for my wife wh is expecting our second and gets no peace from him and for me - as I also love to play and bond with my son but it is very hard to get him to settle to anything if mummy is in the house. Even when she is at work he will ask constantly for her all day long, I know this is to do with him having minimal concept of time. It would be good to know of other parents experiences of this phase, how long it went on for and if anyone had and novel ways of dealing with this difficult time. Thanks.

The "Pack & Play" has reached its capacity. He does not want to sleep in a grown up bed yet and we want to have some type of rail or bumper system to prevent rolling.

My daughter has been very tired lately. She is 12 1/2 months old and has been teething. Maybe that has something to do with it, but I am not sure. She will sleep for an hour or two then wake up and eat a little and then after another hour be ready to go to sleep again. She doesnt have very much energy and doesnt want to eat much food. She just wants her milk. Is this normal? What is causing this?

My daughter is 4.5years old, i split with her father 3years ago but we'd been living at his mother's house at the time. His mum let me and Faith stay even thogh her son n I had split;. He was staying at his NEW girlfriends house. When we were living at his mum's we had to share a room with Faith. when she was old enough 2get out of the cot we had 2put her in our bed so guess what 4years later she still wants 2sleepwith mummy! My ex and I have shared care of Faith and whilst with her father his nephew Faith's cousin he's 13years old told her there were monsters in her room! I'd not long gotten her in a routine of brushing her teeth, going to the toilet and having a glass of water 10mins b4 bed and it was working gr8 until she went back 2 her daddy's and was told that! Any1 with advice on how 2get her away from thinking there are monsters in her room, or how 2get her 2sleep in her own room we just brought her a new bed as well!

When I feed her regular formula she squished into a ball, and cries but does drink it. She also cries pretty much all day, she has really bad gas and has a rash on her face and head. I think that she has a milk allergy, but I am taking her to the doctors on Tuesday. Just wanted to know if this happened to anyone else, and if so what did you feed your baby? I got some soy formula yesterday and she seems to be MUCH better but then I was reading that lots of babies that are allergic to milk are also allergic to soy. Anyhow any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah no one else has a milk allergy in our families.

She is getting in teeth #9,10, & 11 all RIGHT now in the back of her mouth & so it's even worse now than when she was getting in her front ones. She constantly cries when she's with me (when she's teething), but not hardly @ ALL when other people are around. Is she trying to punish me for something? Or is she reacting to my stress? That wouldn't make sense though because even when I TRY my hardest not to let the crying get to me, she still cries on & on though like it doesn't matter whether I'm stressed about the situation or not. PLEASE HELP! All suggestions welcome!
