How old is he? If he's old enough to tell you he won't choke on it again, then cut it up into smaller pieces and feed him some. I'm sure the choking scared him enough... and your threat to not let him eat it, too... that he'll take his time chewing more carefully.

Depending on his age of course, I would say ( provided he is old enough) its fine. remind him to take smaller bites and chew very well. 10 to 15 times at least. Anyone can choke on anything at any time. Just use caution. Or maybe use a mini chopper and chop it, that way its small. But still get the taste.

There are some foods you should avoid giving your child or if you do give them to your child you should cut them into tiny pieces.
Hot dogs. Pepperoni, grapes, anything that might be hard to chew, meats, should also be cut up into tiny pieces where they don't have to chew or if they forget to chew it's not going to have any effect on them.
Also avoid any hard candy, especially lifesavers. My older two children thought I was harsh on them because they weren't allowed lifesavers until they were teens. However they didn't see my 7 year nephew chokeing and turning blue on a lifesaver.

Try shredding it up into small strips and feeding it to him that way. I know when your child chokes it can be really scary trying the food again. With my daughter it was grapes. I still get nervous feeding them to her and keep a close eye. Good Luck!

You could cut it up into smaller pieces. How old is your child? We all choke at one time in our lives. We have to chew and concentrate and not do other things while we are eating, like watching tv that would take the concentration away from our food.
Just watch him closely and remind him to chew carefully and swallow. He can tuck his chin when he swallows to make sure it goes down better.

how old is he? just tell him to chew good, he was probably rushing or trying to say something or playing around, he would have choked on anything and you can't not give him food, just remind him how important it is to relax and chew, it happens to a lot of kids and it will not be the last time it will happen to him, he is learning, i think you punished him enough by just suggesting to take it away, don't be so paranoid

If he fell off a bike you wouldn't stop his learning to ride, so don't stop his eating over one choking incident! He is old enough to tell you he won't choke again and it was an accident. Let him have some, but remember they are high in fat so enjoy in moderation!

Maybe if you cut up the pepperoni into small bite size pieces he'll be ok. I wouldn't deprive him of something he likes. I'd watch him closely and make sure the bites were small. I'm mom to 3.
