Suggestions for what to take, what to leave home, how to get the twins around airports and on the plane would be really appreciated.

We do the whole bedtime routine: bath, stories, pajamas, singing a song in bed, etc. We've got everything timed to finish up at 8:30 when we want her to go to sleep. We leave her room, with her night light on, and then she starts calling out to us and asking for things--whatever she can think of that will get a little more attention. If we play along, we spend the next half hour going back into her room over and over. If we try to draw the line, she throws a screaming fit. She knows how to lie down and go to sleep if she wants to. How can we get 8:30 to be the real bedtime?

My 20 month year old has had daily repeated episodes of choking when drinking fluids of any kind. She will choke from a straw cup, a sippy cup, and a regular cup. Oddly enough the only time she doesn't choke is when breastfeeding. It scares me because she has had several episodes of silent choking when she couldn't clear her own airway or take a breathe. I have to be watching her contstantly to make sure that doesn't happen. Do I try and take her to an ear, nose, and throat specialist or a gastrointestinal. My doctor is not offering any advice other than give her two tablespoons of liquid to drink at a time. I think there could be a bigger problem here and I want to go to the right doctor. Also, has anyone else had this problem with their child on a daily basis? PLEASE HELP!

My daughter will be a year old on the 16th. When she first started eating baby food she would eat 2-3 jars at a time. Now that she is older and has teeth I have started giving her table food. She does real well on it, and has never choked, but lately she has started refusing food and she is now waking up throughout the night again.. Is her eating habits making her unhealthy and that is why she is having trouble sleeping.. She still eats a few bites here and there, and I sit her in her chair 3 times a day with food. She just doesnt eat the way she did in the begining..

I was just curious my husband gives our 3yr old coffee everyday along with diet coke. Does anyone know the long term effects of this. I know he dilutes it 50/50 and as much as i tell him not to give it to him he still does! Can anyone provide me with some useful links to some current studies about the negative side effects so i can show my husband that this isn't healthy?

My twins are turning 4 and I don't know what to get them. I am always disapointed with the gifts I pick for them. I am thinking about getting them bikes but am worried it will just be a waist as they will grow out of them by the time they turn 5.

Anyone have any ideas? What toys does you 4 year old like best?

My five year old son has resently been waking up in the middle of the night. Below are a few things that he does.
He sits up and moves his lips like he's talking to someone.
Gets outta bed and walks to the bathroom like he has to go but just stands there and then walks back to bed.
Sits up and starts crying but doesnt want anyone one to comfort him.
Gets up goes in the bathroom and takes his cloths off, uses a towel to clean him self up and goes back to bed naked. (It's like he thinks he pee'd to bed but never does)

In the morning he doesn't remember anything. What could be causeing him to sleep walk and what can I do to stop it?

Ok, since she was a v.young baby my daughter has slept with me and dad. At the time it was difficult to set up a sleep routine for her cos we were all living in a studio flat, so sending her to bed wasnt possible as she would still be in same room with us. Anyway we are now in a much larger flat but my 15 month old daughter has no routine. Problem is I listened to hubby who assured me she would fall into her routine by herself, but she hasnt (stupid me). She has one / two naps during the day but at night she wiill only sleep for 2-3 hours unless one of us sleeps with her. If we arent there she wakes up adn then it will be another 4 hours before she is sleepy again!! So sometimes if i need to stay up late, i have to allow her to stay up with me. Sometimes she stays up till 3 in the morning. Please some advice. Can I introduce a sleep routine at 15 months? If so, how? She is now very accustomed to sleeping in bed, cuddling up to us etc she not used to the cot. Please help!!

I took her to the doctor and he said that it is unusual for a child this young to prefer to use one side over the other & he referred me to a neurologist....if I hold her right hand she will reach out with her left hand but she has a hard time picking things up with it...I have been watching her legs since we noticed her hands & she does the same. Has anyone ever experienced this? I'm a little nervous that it could be something terrible. Does anyone know of any excercises that I could do with her to try to build up the strength on that side of her body. I made the appointment to the neorologists, but the earliest one is in May...she'll be 1 yr at that point & I'd like to start doing something about this much sooner. I tried other doctors but their waiting period is the same.

Today it seems like everywhere I look there are toddler beds. From a parental stand-point, I see a problem with falling with toddlers are usually active sleepers.

When I was growing up, my parents didn't waste money on getting a special bed. Instead they just put a matress on the floor.

So the question is: how did YOU make the switch from crib to bed? Did you invest in a toddler bed or did you just forgo the special bed and put the matress on the floor?

Our son is 18 months and not ready for a bed yet, but we're trying to prepare ourselves by getting ideas.

I know a 3 year old little girl and she doesn't hardly talk at all. Once in a while she will say you're name or a word, but even when she does it's hard to understand her. I have 3 year old cousins who can speak Spanish, speaks in complete sentences, knows the days of the week, can count, and more. I was just wondering why the first little girl I talked about is so late to talk??

We have already called the cops, but where is the best place for us to hide until help arrives? The yelling and screaming for the past few years has been bad enough, but this outbreak of violence completely crossed the line and it was time to turn her over to the police. I think a little jail time could do her some good.

I've scrubbed it out using Mr. Clean, sprinkled baking soda on the knot that you tie after you cut it off, and even put a stick up in there. It still stinks. Any ideas? I don't want to have to toss it out and get a new one as money is tight.

My son has been sick with diaherra for going on 3 days now and isn't eating much at all. The doctor said its a virus. Any suggestions on stuff he might be interested in eating? Also, everytime he eats and gets diaherra so maybe that's why he doesn't want to eat.

it right. Is it normal? She said I should not talk about it but she is the one that started talking about it. She said talking about it is disgusting but she will not stop doing it. She told me white sticky stuff comes out of her vagaina. I did not ask my sister if she masturbates she just told me. What do you think about this? If you were her 22 year old brother what would you say to her about this, do it do not do it and why. I told her it is normal and it should feel good but she said it does not feel good but is going to keep doing it. I do not understand.

my 14 month old is a very affectionate boy, he likes kisses and hugs and cuddling. he is also very active, climbs anything in sight, and never stop running around. he goes to day care 3 days a week, he is the youngest child there, but he is not the smallest he out weighs the sitters 26 month old by at least 10 pounds. well whenever i pick him up she always tells me how his day went, lately he has been agressave towards the other kids ( most of the kids are 3 and 4 years old) he pushed the 24 month oln into a wall and bullys even the 4 year olds. but all the other kids seem to like him. he is the only boy and he is the youngest. I know he is rambuncious but i dont see how he could be so mean when he is so loving towards me and my boyfriend ( not his dad )
