My OB/GYN did it the day after he was born. Insurance covered part of it and we paid just over $100 for the balance. If you call CIGNA they should be able to tell you. You may need to get the billing code from your doctor first.

It possibly heavily isn't, because of the fact it has grow to be seen extra elegance now. Are you advantageous, you opt for a circumcision performed? I have been given circumcised as an toddler and that i surely hate it. the advantages circumcision supposedly has the two do no longer exist, or they are ineffective. the top of my penis is so dried up and desensitized, it could no longer sense an ice cube. Circumcision will make you lose feeling on your penis, which will consequence your potential to sense sexual excitement. Circumcision additionally will develop the prospect of having erectile disease. some men easily like being circumcised by way of lost sensitivity, yet others do no longer. no longer each and every circumcision is the comparable, the frenulum is bumped off from time to time, different cases this is not any longer. from time to time, in basic terms a ingredient of the foreskin gets cut back off. Many men circumcised as adults have claimed it became into the biggest mistake they ever made, yet others declare they in simple terms desire they did it quicker. individually, i could do very practically something to get my foreskin returned. i'm no longer able to provide up you from getting circumcised, yet i opt for you to be counseled till now you're making the suited determination. seem on the controversy and think of heavily with regard to the pros and cons of each and every area and each argument.

Your insurance company should cover it, but it can't hurt to call and double check. If you don't feel like dealing with them, ask at your next OB visit. Someone in the business office should be able to tell you.
You need to ask your OB if he/she does the circumcision. My OB performed the circumcision on both of my boys a day or two after their birth. If your OB does not perform circumcisions you need to get names/references from your OB's office and make contact now.

It's your choice--personally I think it's your choice and that's that.
Anyway, our insurance didn't cover it. It said it wasn't medically needed so it wasn't covered. That was $150 well spent though. They also said that my epidural wasn't medically necessary even though I had an emergency c-section. Love to deal with insurance companies!
I hate when people push their ideas on new mothers. Lordy!
It's your child. You know what's best.

I believe it is covered under most insurance policies...it is viewed by them as a step toward better health for the baby b/c there is less risk of infections from the extra foreskin holding urine etc..

I'm pretty sure it is. But my mistake with my first kid was that one nurse told me that my pediatrician would do it on his first doctors visit. So when I made the appointment he told me that it was too late to do it in the office and that I had to go somewhere else. So when he was 18 months old and $1,300 later he got it done. So just make sure if you want it done do it in the hospital. Don't let them tell you something different.

It should be. I had different insurance with each of my boys, and both were covered.
