My OB/GYN did it the day after he was born. Insurance covered part of it and we paid just over $100 for the balance. If you call CIGNA they should be able to tell you. You may need to get the billing code from your doctor first.

Your insurance company should cover it, but it can't hurt to call and double check. If you don't feel like dealing with them, ask at your next OB visit. Someone in the business office should be able to tell you.

Anyway, our insurance didn't cover it. It said it wasn't medically needed so it wasn't covered. That was $150 well spent though. They also said that my epidural wasn't medically necessary even though I had an emergency c-section. Love to deal with insurance companies!

Insurance covers it and even if it didnt Medicaid charge around 110.00 in Florida so if you want it done it isnt to cost prohibited.

I believe it is covered under most insurance policies...it is viewed by them as a step toward better health for the baby b/c there is less risk of infections from the extra foreskin holding urine etc..

I'm pretty sure it is. But my mistake with my first kid was that one nurse told me that my pediatrician would do it on his first doctors visit. So when I made the appointment he told me that it was too late to do it in the office and that I had to go somewhere else. So when he was 18 months old and $1,300 later he got it done. So just make sure if you want it done do it in the hospital. Don't let them tell you something different.

My insurance didn't cover my son's circ. Just grab your ins. card and call them and ask.
