We have already called the cops, but where is the best place for us to hide until help arrives? The yelling and screaming for the past few years has been bad enough, but this outbreak of violence completely crossed the line and it was time to turn her over to the police. I think a little jail time could do her some good.

I think you should take your question elsewhere. This is for serious parenting questions.

Go over to polls and surveys. They have a better sense of humor there.

Just handing over your daughter to cops won't do anything. She's 3 years old and won't understand jail. Try teaching her a bit more, maybe show her the meaning of a family. Is it possible there are some shows that influenced her behavior? She can't just be acting like this on her own, there has to be a cause. Just handing her over to the cops and hiding won't do any good. It's like robber coming over to your house, hiding in your closet and giving up because you can't survive. There has to be a better choice then hiding and giving up.

You have to be stern, sit her on a chair and put her a corner all by herself and tell her she will have to think about what she has done. I would give it about 10 minutes then let her up. Call a pediatrician for an appointment. She could be experiencing some sort of medical problems. You do need some kind of outside help, but not the police, call someone more docile like your pastor, they have a way with talking to children. My niece was like that, found out she had a serious medical problem, that required brain surgery.

Umm.... they won't send three year olds to jail. When the police come they will probably have a talk with you, and ask you how long she has been doing this. You have to give time outs, and teach her that she is not the boss of you and your wife. And teach her that's not the right way to act.

II also have a three year old daughter. If this is the first time this has happened, I would start by explaining to her that we don't use our teeth to hurt people. We use the to chew our food. And that we don't use our hands to hurt people, we use them to give love. I would let her know that what she did is unacceptable and that if she chooses to do it again that she will be punished. I would be VERY specific as to the punishment and not leave it open. For example, I would take away my daughters night time books, that for her is a REALLY big deal. You just have to take away what ever is important for her. Just let her know what she is choosing.

Parents Of Tyrannical Toddler program. my 3 yr old karate chopped my back and told me i was a "fart face" and many times called me "poopey doopey". the low self esteem i developed along with the severe back problems forced me to finally get help! good luck!

Can you lock her in a room?

Can you lock her out of the room you're in?

Can you open the front door and maybe she'll just go out on her own?

Good luck - the cops should be there soon! They'll know what to do.
