My two boys are 2 yrs old and 4 yrs old. My oldest boy has ADHD. I also have a 5 month old baby boy.
The two oldest boys are the ones that are going to be in a bunk bed.

I researched this for awhile before I got my boys bunkbeds. And for the Top bunk the child should be at least 6 (thats what the bunkbed manufacturer says) anyway you could get one of them bunkbeds that are a full on bottom and twin on top and they could share the bottom until the older one is 6. But I guess it also depends on how you feel. LIke would your 2 year old climb on the ladder? would the 4 year old play on the bed and pissibly jump off? We have a rule no playing on the bed....my oldest on the top only no excpetions. My sons are 6 and almost 4. Hope that helps

Unless he is afraid of heights or falls out of bed a lot. The four-yr-old should be okay. Make sure that there is a good strong rail and you talk a lot about staying in bed and using the ladder. People with ADHD have impulse control issues and a bad idea is often carried out before the brain had a chance to vote. If you can hold off, waiting another couple of years may make it easier. The AAP recommends keeping kids out of bunk beds until 6 or so. You know your kids, decide on what will be safe, fun, and restful for them. Good luck.

My 3.5 year old sleeps in a loft bed, and we're putting her 1.5-year-old sister on a mattress underneath her this weekend.
