I'm currently going through this with my 19 month old. I think she's cutting molars which is where the diarrhea is coming from. Is your son teething?
Keep him hydrated. Pedialite! As much as he wants (store brand is fine and about half the cost), water, and milk. If you give your son juice, keep it to a minimum as the sugar will make the diarrhea worse. Also, use A&D ointment on his bottom. If the diaper rash is really bad, get triple paste...pricey, but it WORKS!
Also, stick to the BRATY diet until the runs subside. This means bananas, rice or starches (plain potatoes, no butter or seasoning), applesauce, toast, and yogurt. If you give yogurt, make sure it's plain, apple, or banana flavored. I've been doing this for three days now and it's been helping my daughter. Good Luck and I hope your son feels better soon.

Try offering him applesauce. That's what my son enjoys eating while he's sick, that's about the only thing he will eat while sick. Also give him some liquilytes (a gerber version of pedialyte) Good Luck!

Don't give your child fruit juice if he already has diarrhea - it will only prolong the problem.
If he's not throwing up, give him dairy products. Dairy products have a bad reputation for causing constipation, especially cheese. But if given to a child with diarrhea, it will help things firm up a bit.
I have never seen a child turn down cheese, and cheese will make him thirsty so if he asks for something to drink.....give him milk!

give him lots and lots of pedialyte, as much as he will drink. also stick to the BRATY diet (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast, and Yogurt) if anything try to get some yogurt in him, it really helps with diarhea. just make sure that it has active cultures in it. i know it may sound wierd to some, but the doc told me to give it to my daughter, i was skeptical so i looked it up, here is a link for you if youd like to read more about it.

My little one just got over this bug himself....childrens immodium is a lifesaver. ask your pharmacist for the dosage based on his weight. The bottle says for children 6 and over but extreme times call for extreme measures and as long as you dont over due it its perfectly safe. Just make sure the little guy is keeping up on his fluids....lots of popsicles and such.

I would try to BRAT diet, Bananas, applesauce, rice , toast It will thicken his stool and it is bland and should slow down diarrhea.
Make sure you keep him hydrated, and protect his bottom so he doesn't get a rash

Pedialite is the best I have seen for this problem. Diaherea can cause dehydration. This will keep from that.
