I took my 2 year old daughter to the doctor today after she had been complaining of her "butt hurting" after a bowel movement. The doctor said they found blood in her urine, and are sending it off for a culture. The Dr. treated her for a bacterial infection with an antibiotic, but the Dr. still seems concerned about something else. And the results won't be in until Friday. Am I just worrying too much? Please, SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY. And Thank You

My four year old, who will be five in April, is very active and too friendly in public. When we go out, she contiuously walks away to explore her world, spark up conversations with strangers and do just about what she pleases... It is rather embarressing as well as tedious because simple tasks, such as going to the store takes entirely too long. I love my daughter and she is a smart and intelligent kid. I would not say she is bad, just very busy and active. I am willing to accept any friendly advice.

I know its not normal, but is it normal behavior for kids her age to have a temper, because my daughter does. She screams this high pitch scream when she is mad and if she is doing something bad, like crawling under my computer desk, i go and take her away from it and I say NO! and she flails her arms and hits me. Im not sure what to do, she will be one a week from today, does she understand what she is doing? How do i discipline her? I sometimes slap her hand when she is doing something bad, could she be hitting me because of that?

What would you think if you found a spot of blood (could be old or new- it was laundered) on a child's sheets? The spot was close to the top part of the sheets and it was on the fitted sheet (not the loose sheet). The child is someone I babysit for and the spot was on their bed that they use when they sleep at their grandmother's house. I don't know who, if anyone else, uses the bed. The child is approximately 7 years old.

Thanks- just want to know why it might be there and what I should do about it (if anything.)

I have a 3 year old son, that is fairly well-behaved, but he exhibits no empathy at all. For example, this morning I fell down and was hurt and he got upset because I wasn't paying attention to him! Is this normal? He only seems concerned about himself and not anyone else. At what age do most kids exhibit empathy?

I enrolled my son in preschool and after 1 month he still keeps crying every time I bring him. I thought that it would only last 2-3 days, but he still cries! I'm afraid I'm just pushing him too hard if I keep bringing him to school. I don't know, maybe he is just not ready yet. My husband says not to bring him and wait a few months more but my parents advices me to keep bringing him to preschool. What should I do?
