my god i feel your pain with this one, you have to find out what will make them tick, there is always something. they dont care about certain toys but they always have one that they love and wouldn't be ok with you taking away, so i would observe them and find out what it is. also they might be showing you they dont mind time out to spite you but they really do, i would stand them in the corner facing the wall and let them stand there untill they care

Time to take it to the next step. Time out doesnt work for all children. When they wont listen to time out-its time for a tap on the bottom.
Like ive always said, our parents generation, and our grandparents generation spanked and they turned out just fine. Why all of a sudden is the idea of spanking so wrong for this generation?

How soon do they get things back? How old is the child? Not getting desert is a big deal in my house.

Dont feed them anything of their favorite foods for a month.
Instead substitute a favorite food of theirs for a Brussel Sprout. These things are absolutely horrible but apparently good for you as they are a veggie. If they dont eat it then they have to eat two of these horrible things.

What's your goal? Do you just want the child to be unhappy because they misbehaved? What about talking to your child about what was wrong and how you want him/her to behave in the future?
