My son will be going to a sitter in a few weeks. How much time should I have him spend there and get to know her and the other kids before I just leave him there for hours?

Time out--as in--sitting them in one spot as punishment for a certain amount of minutes. Also, what are some other forms of punishment some of you have had luck with other than time-outs?

She has this nasty chapping actually radiating around her poor, little lips...
I currently have a natural Chapstick that I'm applying, but I have heard that too much chapstick isn't good. Plus, I wasn't sure if I should apply it to her skin.

Most nights, my 2 yr old daughter has 1 sippy cup and goes right to sleep for the night. On some nights though, she will drink her cup and demand more, she will stand next to me and scream till she gets more. On these nights she usually ends up with at least 4-5 cups throughout the night. This cannot be good and she will never potty train this way. Any tips or ideas on how to get her to cut back on her sippy cups?
I never had this problem with my other children. I Dont want to just let her scream for the night, there has to be a more constructive way to deal with this.

my almost two year old is really wild . He's always getting into everything..even things ive yelled at him before like playing with the dogs water or getting into cabinets with our chemicals in it or when he's outside i always have to yell at him to not go into the street or neighbors yard but he refuses to listen..he's barely starting to talk and i know he kinda understands but i think he just doesnt care. i dont know if me and my husband have anything to do with it cuz were always fighting and i try not to fight in front of him but i wish someone could tell me another way to discipline my child cuz I dont like to spank or yell at him..i dont want him hating me when he grows up. Any suggestions??

My older child went through this stage. It's SO frustrating. She's very upset that her girl parts are "wet". So now she's obsessing over wiping and cries that she "feels" like she has to go potty. I know these feelings are normal, and that's part of development, but how have other parents dealt with this phase? She doesn't have any medical condition (like bladder infection or UTI or anything). Suggestions very welcome.

The girl I babysit has potty problem. Generally she tells adult if she needs to pee. But always pooh in her pants. Her family and I been trying letting her know going toilet when she feel like pooh....But I wonder she doesn't know what does it mean. My questions are:
(1)Is there any way let the 3-y-o girl totally understand before she pooh on her pants....?
(2) Is a 3-y-o potty problem girl considered slow? What cause the problem? (If the parent divorce? Physical problem? )

Okay, so me & my friend were chillin' in the back of the resturaunt, stuffin' our faces. Then, this lady and her kids come and sit two tables away. Aside from me getting ketchup on my shirt, everything was goin' fine. Until the toddler(about 2 years old) gets up on his mommy's lap and literally whipped out her boob and started sucking away! We couldn't believe our eyes.
Am I the only one that finds that a bit weird?
He's around two(with teeth) and still suckin' on the tit!

My son's school keeps sending home information insisting that my 3yr old has ADD or ADHD because he dont like to sit still and dont like to pay attention to her or to most of the rules and he likes to hit, pinch and bite the other kids, I think that its inappropraite for him to be acting like that at school but my son has never really sat still since he could crawl, but I also feel that its typical toddler behavior but they keep wanting me to get him tested for ADD or ADHD and the drs said that they wont until he is 4yrs old, I am really getting tired of there letters insisting that he is and wanting people from the school to come into the home and stuff like that and I am just really tired of it! what do you think? he is 3yrs old and in his 1st year of preschool (headstart)

please dont answer I dont know, if you dont know dont answer
Thanks

my brother stayed the night with me last night and he was saying that his girlfriends little sister who is about 4 yrs old will get naked in front of everyone and anyone at her house spread her vagina lips? open with her index finger and ring finger and play with her vagina with her middle finger, (of course they stop her) then he said that she walked in on her sister the other day who is 18yrs old and she was just wiping her self from going to the bathroom and the 4yr old asked her if that felt good, my brother told me that the girls uncle had been accused of molesting several other kids in the family but the mom sill allows her to go over there, what do you think and should I say something? they now live out of state but they still go over there for a wkend when they are in town and get to stay with there uncle??

He is developmentally fine--can do puzzles, legos, etc, just not that interested in self feeding, even finger foods. He will eat if I feed him and I can't just not feed him until he does it himself. He is also considered FTT (weight and height bellow 3rd percentile). Any suggestions, besides consulting a doctor.

I'm thinking of sending my 18 month old to a Montessori kindergarten next month. Some friends have commented that he is too young for school. Some have said starting earlier is better than later. Fellow parents/grandparents: What do you think? Your experience? Opinions? (Thanks in advance from a new mom!)

My little boy has had me to himself for 2 1/2 years and gets pretty upset when he can't have my attention.
When (and how) do I tell him about the new baby (not due until Sept./Oct.), and what can I do to make the transition easier for him?
