This should be okay as long as he has a drink to go with them.

Okay, if you buy the regular Cheerios (not the honey nut), you are not getting your kid hooked on junk food at an early age (as Beanie suggested). I used to give my babies cherrios as a finger food when they had teeth and started sitting alone. They are great, and they really are not all that messy...it seems as though Gerber and other manufacturers are making more finger foods for babies now than they were 7 years ago, but Cheerios worked great for me!

yes definitly
i work in a nursery an we have jus had ppl come in to asses the children for a over the country examination to check children ared developing at the "norm" so to say. the woman who conducted these tests who has various degrees an works with children all the time gave them dry cherios as a rewars when they did a task well, they are a good nutritional snack as they has 4 wholgrains in an even the normal ones have honey on top make they sweet there is no crap in them so they are safe to give as snack

Certainly. I think they are a recommended snack by some child health nurses (full of sugar though!). 12 months is definitely old enough, but just make sure you always supervise a baby while they are eating to watch for choking! Make sure he is strapped into his high chair too, and not running around :-)

yes, my daughter is 15 months old and loves them with or without milk. When we are out and about I put some in a little Tupperware and she eats them when shes in her pram. They are full of nutrition and a lot less messy than wotsits!

yes. i used to give my little one cheerios all the time without milk. that was one of his first treats. it's easy to pick up for their little fingers and nutritious. Just buy the regular kind, not the honey nut one.

Dry Cheerios is recommended by pediatricians and WIC for babies learning to self-feed. WIC recommends regular or Multi-grain(REALLY YUMMY!) They are good to practice picking things up & chewing. They arenutrious and fun to play with!

my daughter won't eat them any other way. She also likes the Shreddies too but has to have the milk in a cup rather than on them!. I think she likes the crunch.

Yeah why not? The only thing I would say is to be careful because they are quite small that he does not choke. They are also quite dry so make sure he has a drink to hand.
