I have a 2 1/2 year old son that we're trying desparately to get toilet trained. He has troubles with rashes and the pull ups are just becoming a crutch for him so we decided yesterday to go "cold turkey" and start putting him in big boy briefs. He likes wearing them, and although we are successful getting him to use the potty when we put him on it about 95% of the time, he stilll won't tell us he needs to use the potty and "makes a mess" (in his words). Any advice?

I'm a new Mom, so please no lectures on me worrying too much...ha....but I KNOW we shouldn't compare, but my 1 year old doesn't shake her head no. My friend whose baby is 10 months just started doing this. I know it's considered a developmental thing by looking at "THE LIST", but she just doesn't do this. She seems to understand things and I don't sense any developmental delays of any kind, but could she still be in the normal range of not doing this?? Thanks so much!!!

My daughter has always been a great sleeper. The last few nights she has waken up in the middle of the night crying. I have had her sleeping with us so I don't have to run to her. I rub her back and legs and she goes back to sleep. What could be waking her up? Any advice to help her sleep through the night again? Thanks

I had a baby at 41 years old. He was a complete surprise and I adore him. He will now be 3 in July. I have two other boys age 15 and 10. My question is how do I respond when people ask me if he is my grandchild??? I do not look old for my age and cannot understand why people cant grasp that a women at 43 has an almost 3 year old. Any suggestions on how to respond when rude women ask me if I am the mother or grandmother, what does it matter and isn't that nervey, I would never ask anyone that.

I have been bathing my daughter in her First Years Infant to Toddler Tub. I would lay her in the reclined side (the infant side) to wash/rinse her hair, then she would sit in the toddler side to finish her bath. It worked perfectly.
But now she is outgrowing the tub. So my question is, now what? Some one told me to get a ring seat with a suction cup on the bottom for her and just set that in the big tub. But our tub has a non-skid bottom......the suction cup would not stick. Would the ring seat still work without being stuck down? Any other suggestions for bathing my daughter and washing her hair? She is not old enough to just sit up and put her head back, without losing her balance. And it takes 2 hands to lean her back, leaving none to wash/rinse her with.
What is the next step after the baby tub?

I breast feed my daughter when she was an infant. When she was very young we started this she would be put into her own crib and around 2-3 in the morning she would wake up I would go and get her and she would be feed and sleep with me for the rest of the night. I was a single working mom, this was not a comfort thing it was the only way I could survive.

Now she has just turned four. She goes to her own bed at bedtime and goes to sleep with out a fight. About every other day around 4-5 in the morning she climbs into bed with me. I find it a comfort to have her there and so does she, it's kinda nice waking up with her.

My Boyfriend however...has decied its not healthy. I looked around online and found some very strong optinions from reliable sorces supporting both sides.

What do you think?

My sister has twins with upset stomaches. She heard that you could give them jello (un-frigerated) to drink in replace of pedalite.

I am looking for it for my neice who has just got a fish but can't find it anywhere - I've asked my friends but they look at me like I'm crazy! Can you help or am I imagining that the book ever existed?

My son is in nursery until 11:30am & is usually eager to get home (which involves a 20min. walk through woodland). In the past i have had to carry him as he has forgotton to go to the toilet before hometime. Now that I have started back to work, a group of mums + myself take it in turns to walk the kids home on our days off. Today walking home with my sons friend & his mum the other boy needed the loo, which my friend let him do against a tree. My son seemed interested in this but i'm unsure of whether to let him if he needs to?
What are your opinions on this - should i let him or isnt it a good idea?
Your views please

I have seen them, putting the child in the road and them standing on the pavement, they don't seem to realise the risk they are putting their kids at.
If a child ran in to the road they would grab them and probably give a smack for it, but they are willing to shove their child in front of a car to get across the road, makes no sense to me.

He pees in the potty all day long but will not poop. Have tried everything. rewarding.... time out.... making him clean himself.... throwing away underwear that he like cause he pooped in them... taking away toys. Nothing phases him. He tell me that he will poop in the potty and not in his pants again and then the next day will do it again. Have tried to catch him doing it, but as soon as I put him on the toilet he will not go any more. He will hold it for a few days because he doesn't want to go in the potty. What can I do?

I'm worried about my daughter-- is she normal?
1. She only really takes a bottle to bed (only water).
2. I took a 3 day vacation with my financee' and since we've been back (almost a month ago)- she's really cranky and I've become a huge magnet...she won't sit with anyone else and she's become really tempermental.
3. My daughter is an only child but I live at home with my parents and two brothers (17 & 19y/o), she will not sit by herself and play or watch tv.
4. She makes all kinds of sounds but the only word that she says is MAMA. A couple of months ago...she went through spirts (dada, then she wouldn't say dada, but would say nana (my mom) Now she wont say anything but MAMA.
5. My sister taught her to "bing heads" now anytime she's mad at me she tries to slam her head into mine.

Please help, I'm trying to be a good mommy, but I'm starting to go crazy. I've read all kinds of literature that says she should be talking 2-3 words, and playing/watching tv independantly
