I've breastfed my daughter for almost 16 months now, and this week we've been trying to wean. She is getting a bit more used to the idea of not nursing, but we have absolutely no routine at all at bedtime now. We start rocking, she gets really upset, so i try to lay with her and cuddle...she doesn't like that, I pace with her in my arms...doesn't work. So, she finally ends up falling asleep from exhaustion after rolling/fussing around on the bed for about 90 min. I think it would be easier for her to transition if she could get back into a routine. How can i help her?? Any advice would be gratly appreciated.

My 22 month old son will not sleep through the night. As a matter of fact he didn't sleep through the night as a baby(NEVER SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT AT ALL). Can anyone out there give me any pointers on getting him to sleep through the night? I just had a baby 3 months ago and she sleeps through the night, but i'm really getting fed up with getting up at night with him, what's going on?

This is not just any regular teddy bear. It's a brown teddy bear with a blue shirt and sleeping cap. When you push his hand he's says the Lay me down to sleep Prayer..
My son received one of these bear's when he was born (he will be 3 in June), and he is so attached to this bear, but it's not the same bear anymore, he needs a new one really bad. He's gotten his use out of it, it's so cute it has a hole in the ear and he takes change and puts it in there and it goes to his feet, his neck looks like it's broken just hangs there, everywhere my toddle goes he has to have his bear with him. I don't even know if he would take to a new one, I have tried other bears but haven't been able to find this certain one. My grandmother gave it to him in 2004 and she can not remember where she got it at. Please if anyone knows where I can find one let me know...

Then my 2 1/2 year old son started (a couple of hrs ago) throwing up to, he told me his stomach was hurting, i gave him some water and he threw it up--i tried giving him ice and crackers but he also wanted to throw up. My 4 year old goes to a small town kindy of 10 children. There is only 2 other boys the rest are girls. The boys tease him by calling him names and saying they hate him. Now a little girl from the class is having a birthday party and has invited everyone from Kindy except my son. I am worried about his self esteem and I'm now considering moving him to a Kindy at another town. It's only a 10 min drive away and there are several Kindy's to choose from each with a min of 40 children. My husband and mother think I'm over reacting and if I move him then I'm just running away from the problem and who's to say there won't be even bigger problems at another Kindy. If I keep him at this Kindy he will also spend the next 7 years at school with these children. He likes his teacher and she has tried to help, however she can only do so much. Should I move him or stay? Any advise.

my 20 month old was real sick when he was around 6 months old but seemed to out grow it a little bit. the last three nights he has been sleepless and last night he started coughing real bad, it sounded like a bark which i know is a sign of croup. this morning he seemed like he was having trouble breathing so i called the doctor and brought him in. the doctor said that it was just a bad cold and his lungs were clear but also wanted me to put him on albuteral.(he does have asthma) tonight he has a 101.1 fever the cough is still bad and he is just moping around. a couple times he has thrown up from choking on flem when coughing. i know he needs his sleep but i have a feeling we are in for a rough night. any advice to help a worried mom through the night. thanks.......
(only serious answers please this is my son we are talking about not a joke)

My daughter is 18 months and she has always gone to sleep very easily. I put her in bed and immediately leave the room and she just goes to sleep without any problems or crying. I am worried that if I put her into a toddler bed that bed time will turn into a nightmare of continaul getting up and into things in her room. How do you know when the time is right?

My daughter is 17 months old and constantly slaps people if she doesn't like something. She slaps me, her sister and her father and caregiver. She slaps the dog and inanimate objects when she gets mad, if there is no living thing close by. Saying NO in a firm voice doesn't work. Scolding doesn't work. Slapping her hands or holding them down to stop her from slapping doesn't work. I feel she is too young for any discipline stronger than a hand slap, but am at a loss of what else to try.

Am I being Fair? I have a 3 year old who I am desperately trying to potty train so I have offered him Chocolate each time he goes Potty. 1 lil piece of Chocolate if he pees' and 2 lil pieces of Chocolate if he goes poopy.
So, now my question is....I babysit a 5 year old lil girl sometimes and she wants a piece of candy too. I have told her that she is already potty trained and I am trying to teach my son to use the potty like a big boy and by him getting the candy is suposse 2be special 4 him.
Now if I give her candy or something to that effect too then I am not doing anything special for my son &he wont see the potty training thing as anything he wants to do if she gets something too. When Hes the one going potty & not her. Am I wrong? What should I do?
The mom said that her lil girl feels treated unfairly &she isn't trying 2have my son &her kid compete but she wants me 2go &buy her kid sweettarts or something so that when I give my son his chocolate reward her kid gets 1 too??
