Try contacting your local branch of the Red Cross. I believe they offer babysitting courses. If their course isn't available to you, try contacting your local hospital, community center, the YMCA/YWCA or JCC or your county vo-tech school. I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

I know that both St. Lukes and Mercy have one. I also think that Kirkwood has one available. There probably also one at UIHC w/ the children's hospital being there, although that is a long drive.
